1. "And it's my hope that through the course of this series that we would see that that faith actually helps us. It helps us navigate these questions knowing that ultimately we get to look to God's character, His goodness, His faithfulness, and His love. And it helps us at least find some sense of peace in the middle of these questions that are, quite frankly, above our pay grade."

2. "And sometimes God responds that, yes, this is how I'm going to do it. And it happens quick. You're in and out of the drive-thru line at Chick-fil-A quickly. And that's amazing, and we love that. And we know that prayer is important, that prayer is powerful. And yet, prayer can also be confusing. Because sometimes God answers prayers quickly, and sometimes He doesn't."

3. "And it's in the silence that we can believe that he doesn't care, and yet the reality is that just because God is silent, or seems to be silent, it doesn't mean that he's not present. The Bible talks about who God is, and that he's a God who keeps his word and his promises. So even though he may feel silent, even though he may feel far away, he is right there in the middle, caring for you, being present, and working in your life, even if you're not seeing it in the moment."

4. "When in reality, prayer is not about us getting God to do our will, but instead it's about getting to know God deeper, more deeply, so that we can ultimately do his will. See, God is not a person who can do his will. He can do his will. He can do his will. It's not a help line, a button to be pushed when we need help, but rather a relationship to pursue."

5. "And it's as we spend more time in conversation, in prayer, that we become more aligned with what God's will is, and what he is up to in our lives, and what he's trying to do in us and through us, that we have this assurance that God is present, that God is right there with us, in the middle of whatever it is that we're going through."

6. "And his picture of good is different than our picture of good sometimes, and that's where the tension lies. And yet, it's God who ultimately has made himself available to us, our Heavenly Father, who said, as my children, come to me, ask me, pray to me, make your requests known to me, throw your cares and anxieties to me, because I hear you, and ultimately, I'm going to answer you. It just may not be in the way that you always want."

7. "See, God wants to give us what we would ask for if we knew what to ask for, according to his will. And sometimes our wills are aligned, and sometimes they're not. And it's in those moments that we, we again, trust that, as Romans chapter 12 says, that God's will is good, it's pleasing, and it's perfect. And as much as you want what you want, and as right as you think it is, that maybe God has something different in mind, something different in mind for you, and for those around you."

8. "And it's knowing who God is, it can help build our trust and faith that, ultimately, he's giving us what's truly good for us. Which leads us to the other takeaway about prayer, is that sometimes, God has something different in mind. We pray for what we think is good and right, and it very well just might be. But, at the same time, as it was read just a moment ago in 1 John, it says, if we ask anything, according to his will, he hears us."

9. "And it's in this place of desperation that Jesus goes, and he pleads with his Father. God, if there is any other way, Father, if there is any other way, let's make it happen. I know that that I've come for this purpose. I've come for this mission. And yet, God, if there is any other way, please, let's do it now. And yet, while God doesn't give him a different path, we see this peace that fills Jesus that ultimately says, God, not my will, but your will."

10. "Because God gives good things to his children, and, and sometimes, and we have to reconcile this with him, and with others, that sometimes he has something different in mind. And so, even though God doesn't answer our prayers, even though sometimes the answer is something different, we find peace knowing that, that we are able to approach him with confidence, to know that he hears us, and that ultimately he is working in our lives."
