#RepentForHealing
“That's a stunning statement from a president who recognized that the only thing that could help change a nation was God. Coming under his correction is not weakness. Repentance is oftentimes the only path you and I can have towards healing. And the church, we must lead in this. He never said if the culture, if the government, if the media. He said, if my people, if my people. Last point, under his mercy. Point number four, then I will hear from heaven and I will forgive their sin and I will heal their land. If my people get everything right, I will hear that's not what it says. He does not say if they become impressive enough, I'll forgive them. He does not say if they prove they deserve it, I will work on their behalf. No. This, friends, is language of mercy.”

#HumbleUnderGod
“Bearing his name is only the beginning. Because if we carry his name but reject his authority, we're not honoring him. We're simply using him. The next phrase that we find in this verse is will humble themselves. Point number two is you and I want to be under authority. See, he's inviting us into humility and humility is not weakness. Humility is proper alignment and position. It is a soul and a heart cry that god is god and I am not And that is the word on what under truly matters so much. It means so much because you and I are not above. We're not equals. But god has said, hey, come under my authority.”

#ChangeStartsWithMe
“``So the next phrase, and turn from their wicked ways is of such importance. You and I point three need to be under correction and turn from their wicked ways. It's easy to talk about what's wrong in our culture. It's easy to turn on the news and blame people and say how ignorant they are, how uneducated they might be about the issues. It's easy to name the sins of politicians, institutions, media, schools, neighborhoods, even the next generation. It's easy to do that. But god says, if my people, the first place repentance must happen is among those who know his name. We want change. Let it begin with us. We pray all the time. God, change this. Change this. Have you ever invited him and said, god, why don't you change me? Change me rather than praying for your spouse to change, your job to change. Why don't you say, god, why don't you change me in the middle of this?”

#ChurchRemembers
“That verse starts out and it says, my people who are called by my name. Interesting there, the first thing that scripture tells us, it doesn't say if a nation, it doesn't say if a king, it does not say if the culture, it says, if my people who are called by my name. Before god speaks to a nation, before god wants to do things in our in the structure of our world, he often times is looking to his people. He's looking to the hearts of us who are his children, who can hear from him. See, renewal does not begin when America cleans up its image. Renewal begins when the church remembers whose name we bear. That's right. Amen.”
