#IntegrityOverConvenience
“``here are this this is what I wrote down. Every lie might buy you a little bit of convenience, but is set by selling a little bit of integrity. It is like an exchange. I can buy myself some convenience with some little lies, but the currency I'm using is my integrity. And I would suggest that in the world we live in right now as followers of Jesus, integrity is everything. People are looking for, do you do what you say that you do you actually live this?”

#TruthBuildsTrust
“And so the reason we talk about do not lie and the truth matters is truth isn't something that the bible just tells us is a good idea or good practice or a nice thing to do. Jesus says, I am the truth. Like, I am. It's his identity. It's who he is. He is the truth, the way, the truth, and the life. And so, actually, this is a really important thing for us to think about is when we think about truth, and we're gonna think a bit about the fact that truth is actually the gateway to trust, and trust is the currency of relationships.”

#LovedAsYouAre
“And so these are some of the reasons that we lie. We wanna be accepted. We wanna have more. We want people to approve of us. We want to avoid shame or embarrassment. That is a big one. Sometimes, the fear of shame of if people really knew the truth means that the lie becomes really attractive in that moment. But the thing about following Jesus is that he says, you're already enough. I already approve. I love you. You're my favorite. He already says, just as Deborah so beautifully articulated, he already adores you on your worst day, in your worst moment, doing the thing that you wish no one would ever find out about. He still adores you. And so what a lie does is try and lead you into a narrative that you're trying to be something else, and God says, it turns out I love you just as you are. Just as you are.”

#KnowYourIdentity
“It's like take off the old patterns, the old habits, the old ways because you wanted people to think you were great, and you wanted to show people you were enough. And instead, put on a new garment that is renewed, but it says, I know who I am, and I know who my dad is. And I know what my dad says about me. And you might not think that about me, but I know what he says. And do you know what? His voice is more important to me than your voice.”
