Now there are certain things that I can know are God's will for my life, though I may not have God speak to me concerning career or concerning moving or where I should live, things of that nature. There are things that I know are God's will for my life. [00:09:20]

God's will that in everything I give thanks. Now he didn't say in some things give thanks, you know, I'm sort of prone to pick and choose. There are some things that I say, oh, I'm very thankful for that, but then there are other things I am prone to complain about. [00:11:48]

I do not believe that it is possible for us to give thanks for everything. This is one of those areas where I need the help of God to obey the commandment. It isn't my personality, it isn't in my nature to be thankful for everything. [00:14:29]

One thing that I need to know is that God is in control of all of the circumstances in my life. Nothing happens to me but what God has allowed it to happen. The scriptures use the potter as an analogy of God's power over us. [00:15:44]

I realize that God uses pressures in my life to mold and to shape my life, but I need to realize that like a lump of clay in the potter's hand, I am in the hands of God and he can do what he pleases. [00:16:43]

God has a plan but it is a good plan. He has a purpose for allowing it but it is a good purpose and that in time I will come to know and to understand the purpose of God for the painful experience that I went through. [00:17:36]

God does not promise us immunity from pain or sorrow. Quite the contrary, Jesus said that they that live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer. He said, Jesus said in this world you will have tribulation. The scriptures say they that live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution. [00:20:23]

The present suffering is not worthy to be compared with the glory that shall be revealed. The scripture tells us therefore endure all things for the elect's sake that they that you might obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory. [00:26:28]

God loves me like a father loves his child. God loves me and is interested only in my eternal good. He loves me so much that he sent his only begotten son to take my place and to die in my stead that I could have fellowship with him. [00:29:39]

What should I do when pain and suffering crosses my path? Give thanks, know that God is working in my life, and then I need to just commit myself to him. Lord, I don't know what you're doing, why you're doing it, I'm not comfortable with this but Lord I just put it in your hands. [00:34:21]
