"Names matter. Even nicknames matter. Nicknames give a level of knowledge and intimacy, and they reveal the level of closeness that you have with that person. Take me, for example. To my wife, to Lauren, I'm babe. None of you can call me that. Only she can call me that. To my mom, I'm me. Miho. To my little niece and my little nephew, they're three and five, I'm Uncle Ewo, right?" [00:25:31]

"So my hope is that throughout this series, with each name that we've studied, you're getting to know God in a more personal, in a deeper, in a more intimate way, because you know God by name. And if you've missed any week of this series, make sure you go online to our website, check out our YouTube channel or our Facebook videos, and you can catch up and watch some of the old messages there. But it's good to get to know God by name." [00:26:34]

"Whatever your situation, you are in a crisis, and that's why God, that's why our God wants you to know another name of His, Jehovah -Jireh. The name is Jehovah -Jireh, which means God is our provider. Jehovah -Jireh. That name's kind of catchy, isn't it? I want you to say it with me. Say this out loud. Jehovah -Jireh. Jehovah -Jireh. God, our provider." [00:28:40]

"Abraham was a blessed man because he was a tested man. Did you catch that? That's a good thought, isn't it? Abraham was a blessed man because he was a tested man. That means this, tested. Testing brings a blessing. Testing brings a blessing. A tested person is a blessed person." [00:31:11]

"we're afraid God will ask us to give up something that we love. We're afraid God is going to ask us to lay down something that we cherish, to sacrifice something that we cherish in our hearts. You see, we all have this pull in our hearts to take the gifts and the blessings that God gives us and to make them idols in our hearts." [00:35:18]

"Maybe God has given you a group of friends or God has given you a boyfriend or a girlfriend and you're crazy about them. And if you're not careful, those relationships, they can take up more space in your heart and your mind and in your schedule than God. I mean, it can... It could be anything. It could be a house. It could be a car. It could be hobbies. It could be a cause you believe in. It certainly could be politics. Or like Abraham, it could be your children who become idols." [00:36:58]

"When we find ourselves in a test or in a place of need, when we're up a creek without a paddle, as they say, the first thing that we should do is worship God. Is worship God. When you don't have what you need, and you don't know how, and you don't know how you're going to make it through, that's when you need to worship God. That's when you need to believe God's promises and worship Him." [00:40:38]

"to believe that somehow, someway, God would provide. And right now, if you say that you don't have enough faith to believe that, then borrow some of Abraham's faith. Tap into that. Borrow some of mine. Borrow someone's faith. Keep believing God's promises and worship him in advance for the provision that you don't even see yet. Worship God even when you can't see it. That's what Abraham did." [00:41:43]

"called that place, the Lord will provide. Jehovah Jireh. God is our provider. Isn't that an awesome story? Like, as much as it makes us cringe on the front end, on the back end, this should inspire great faith and great hope and great confidence in God because of his loving provision, because of his love. Listen, check this out. We need to look above our problems to see God's provision." [00:48:01]

"God has the power to do something in your situation. God has the power to work in the hearts and the lives and the finances and the relationships around you to rearrange your circumstances to give you exactly what you need right when you need it, which is exactly what God did here for Abraham. Think about this." [00:49:01]

"And Jehovah Jireh wants you to remember today that his provision for you is walking up the other side of the mountain. Just give it some time. Just give it some time. Keep trusting and look up so you can see it when it shows up. In fact, there's one more thing that we can remember from this story. Number three, God preserves us by his plan." [00:50:06]

"If you ever doubt the love of God, if you ever doubt the blessing of God, if you ever doubt the provision of God, all you need to do is look at the cross of Jesus Christ because the cross forever stands as a reminder of how God has provided for you and for me, how God has provided for your eternal, most important, most ultimate need through his Son, Jesus Christ."
