1) "Suffering is in the world. Sin is in the world because we are in the world. We live in a fallen world. For Romans 3 and 23 makes the levels the playing field on us all. For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. This is Joseph's domestic dysfunction. Family, notice Joseph is born into dysfunction, but every family has friction. There is no family that is perfect. And when you read from Genesis to Revelation, there isn't one family that you would want your family to be like because God gives them grace to persevere, but no family in the world. And the life of the Bible is perfect."

2) "God never allows where we are, what we've done, and how long we've been doing and to hinder his word from giving us hope for the future. Can I tell you tonight that you can live beyond what you see by taking God at his word. And God is showing Joseph, but he also may be showing you and I tonight that there's more to life and there's more that God has for us than what we can see. Remember, Joseph is 17. He is spoiled. He is young and immature. How do we know that? There's two things that let us know about his immaturity. Number one, he talks too much. Number two, he talks to the wrong people about his dreams and aspirations."

3) "Aren't you glad that God has given you time to mature through some things? Aren't you glad that God did not forfeit his promises because you were immature in your walk with him? And yet God gives Joseph dreams of hope, help, and healing despite where Joseph presently is. That's the good news, that with God, you don't have to be held hostage by your own history. Let me say it again. With God, you don't have to be held hostage by your own history. God has a plan for your life."

4) "If God is going to grow you and I, to be the people he's called us to be, he has to some things so that we can become uncomfortable so that we will learn to trust in him and not depend on our own strength and senses. How does God deliberately make Joseph uncomfortable? Watch this. God, Jacob, sends Joseph to the field to look for his brothers. Joseph, some way, somehow gets lost, bumps into a man that asks him what he's looking for. The man tells Joseph, your brothers have went to Dothan. Yet, Jacob sends Joseph to the field. His brothers see him coming and they say, here come this dreamer."

5) "Listen to me carefully. If you don't have the proper perception about life, it's easy to become bitter at people instead of thanking God for his providence. What do you mean? there's always a reason to be thankful. Matthew Henry tells the story of being robbed one night and someone taking his wallet as he wanted to put his head down in power about not having his wallet. Matthew Henry says God clearly spoke to him and gave him reasons to be thankful. The first reason Matthew Henry said, I thank God that this was the first time I was robbed. He said, number two, I thank God that he took my wallet, but not everything I possessed. Number three, I thank God he took my wallet and there wasn't much in it. Number four, I thank God that I was robbed and I wasn't the one doing the robbing."

6) "We must know that God is in every detail of our lives. If we don't, we'll take things personally, blame people and become bitter rather than providentially trusting God. for the journey and completing the journey with joy. God uses unexpected people, unexpected problems, unexpected places as part of the path to fulfill his plan for our lives. God is always up to more than we can see from our view. Well, how can you get through the painful times? How can you get through the hard moments? How can you get through the hard stuff?"

7) "What Junior learned is something you and I need to learn is that you can make it through anything. You can get over anything. You can come through anything if you don't focus on what's causing the pain, but focus on the promises of the one who told you he loved you. Can I tell you tonight, Joseph, at times like this, being pushed, being sold, being transitioned to Egypt, the only thing Joseph could hold on to was the one. who told him he loved him. Can I tell you tonight, God loves you."

8) "I pray that you've been blessed by this. Making Life Count 365 is a ministry by which I ask two questions. Number one, are you using everything God gifted you with? If not, number two, if not, how long will you tell yourself now is not the time? Can I tell you? God had to separate Joseph from Jacob so that Joseph would learn how to depend on his heavenly father more than his earthly father. Could that be you tonight? God is trying to separate you from some stuff to show you that he can show himself strong in your life."
