Our lives are lived in segments, and oftentimes we are trying to understand the purposes of God as we study one segment of Our Lives, and we can't figure out where this fits into the picture, and many times we're troubled and we are puzzled by our circumstances because we cannot see the full picture. [00:56:16]

Joseph was able to understand the full picture in just a short while as we moved through Genesis. Jacob, who for 20 years, has considered Joseph dead through the deception of his sons, showing him Joseph's bloody coat, he drew the conclusion that Joseph had been torn by some wild beast. [02:41:56]

Peter said one of our problems is that we cannot see that which is afar off. Spiritually we are so often nearsighted, and so often with Jacob we're crying all things are against me and God is saying, oh wait wait just a minute you don't know what I've got planned for tomorrow. [07:17:39]

Joseph said unto them do not interpretations belong to God tell me them I pray you hear to me is an amazing thing about this fellow Joseph, how that he has maintained his faithfulness and Devotion to God. It is because of that Devotion to God that Joseph is actually in the prison. [10:41:04]

He said how can I do this great wickedness and sin against God. He'd been away from the influences of his family for many years, away from The Godly influences at home, and yet his belief and faith and trust in God was so deep that even when faced with this temptation, he refused. [11:21:39]

We forget that we are children of God, we're children of a holy God, and he demands Holiness of his children. Be therefore holy for I am Holy saith the Lord, and we're not aware enough or conscious enough of Who We Are, we forget Who We Are, sometimes we become involved in things. [12:23:42]

Joseph could see the possibility of the Butler putting in a good word, getting his sentence reduced by the Pharaoh perhaps released so he could go home to his family, and they came to pass at the end of two full years, so the immediate release was not forthcoming now had the butler spoken. [16:45:05]

As God is working out his purposes and his plans so often we are disappointed because things are not working out as we had hoped they would, as we have planned or anticipated, and there is a delay, and we've become discouraged, two more years in that Egyptian prison for Joseph. [18:01:20]

Joseph answered Pharaoh saying it is not in me, this is something that I highly admire in Joseph, when the Pharaoh says I understand that you can interpret dreams and all, and Joseph said it is not in me, that is I can't do it, but God shall give Pharaoh an answer of peace. [22:00:26]

Joseph was despised and rejected by his brothers, and Isaiah tells us concerning Jesus he is despised and rejected by man. Joseph was sold by his brothers for 20 pieces of silver Jesus was sold by one of his disciples Judas for 30 pieces of silver. [39:17:12]

Joseph overcame The Temptations of the World the Flesh the devil, even as Jesus overcame The Temptations of the World the Flesh and the devil. Joseph was falsely accused, even as they hired men to give false witness against Jesus, the Pharaoh gave to Joseph a gentile bride. [41:05:39]

Joseph was 30 years old before he began his ministry there in Egypt. Jesus was 30 years old when he began his ministry, and so as you go through the story there are so many parallels lightnesses where Joseph became a beautiful type of our Lord Jesus Christ. [42:55:34]
