#GoodShepherd
“The picture of God here is a victorious king, but he's a victorious shepherd king. He's not the tyrant that they knew. He's not the one out for himself and is just willy nilly slaying people left and right. He's the one who comes to care, which is the message we are being invited to respond to. God is the shepherd king. Jesus himself calls, himself the good shepherd in John chapter 10. In Matthew 11, Jesus invites anybody who will come to him to do so to get rest because he is gentle and humble in heart.”

#MeditateOnGod
“There's so much richness in these verses. We could spend months unpacking them, but the main thing we need to take away from this is our need to meditate on the bigness of our God. We need to let that bigness invade us. It's gonna be overwhelming because we're not gonna be able to comprehend all of it. We can't. We're finite human beings as those as as has already been pointed out to us. But as we meditate on that, as it comes into our hearts and our minds, we're gonna see clearly the next step, which brings us to takeaway number four, put your trust and hope in God.”

#WaitOnTheLord
“``The idea here is actively living life under the instruction of God through all circumstances and in all situations while waiting patiently for him to act, following his instructions, expecting him to carry out what needs to happen. That's the waiting here. Those who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings like eagles. They shall run and not be weary. They shall walk and not faint. Why? Because God is the source of life.”

#GodGivesStrength
“The gods of ancient Babylon and the Canaanite gods were notoriously they they were notorious for having human frailties according to their their traditions and and whatnot. They would get hungry. They would get tired. They would fight amongst themselves. They would rely on humans to take care of them rather than the other way around. As a matter of fact, humans were created by them in order to take care of them. But that's not Israel's god. That's not our god. His understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might, he increases strength. God gives out life rather than require requiring his creation to give him life.”
