#beKnownNotProtected
“underneath too busy is often its priorities. Underneath nobody would understand, it's the fear of staying unknown for us. And underneath I don't wanna commit is a fear of being let down. All three of these can become the same thing, a form of self protection. I understand that instinct. Self protection was never going to get you what you actually want in your life, which is to be known and fully loved. Here's what I know, is that Jesus did not leave this as an option for himself, and I don't think he leaves it as an option for us either.”

#buildYourCommunityNow
“this is the same thing that the Garden Of Gethsemane is saying. You were not built to walk through the worst moments of your life alone. Weren't. Here's the catch though. When Jesus was going through his difficult evening, that was not when he decided I should build a good community around me. He needed them, but he had built them years before. And if you wait until the diagnosis comes or the divorce papers come or the funeral shows up to then find your people, you are going to find out how hard it is to build real relationships in the middle of a crisis.”

#unspokenTurnsBitter
“Because here's what happens when we have unmet expectations or frustrations or dreams or whatever it may be that doesn't get said out loud. The danger is what happens when that thing keeps growing. Because what happens when you don't say it out loud is it doesn't go away. It just goes underground. And underground is a very scary place for some of our emotions to fester. Because when there's no one there to push back against them, they can turn into greater things like bitterness or resentment or just a more callous version of ourselves.”
