“Can I challenge you? Don't let yourself lean on your understanding. Saul understood that he needed the offering to be made. He understood that the odds were insurmountable for him and for his people. He understood the people are scattered from him and there's only one unifying element that could save them and that was the lord. But he also understood that it wasn't his place to take that action. If he had waited just a few moments longer, Samuel would have been there and it would have been taken care of.”

#StopTrustingYourOwnUnderstanding
“What's interesting is that even in those times of live life, sometimes we know that we're making the wrong decision, but we force ourselves to still make that decision because that's what our understanding of the situation tells us to do. Can I challenge you? Don't let yourself lean on your understanding. Saul understood that he needed the offering to be made. He understood that the odds were insurmountable for him and for his people. He understood the people are scattered from him and there's only one unifying element that could save them and that was the lord. But he also understood that it wasn't his place to take that action.”

“There's a lot of wonderful things in this world. There's a lot of wonderful things that we enjoy even here in America. We're very blessed. We're able to live in air conditioning. We're able to enjoy going out for a meal. We're able to enjoy TV instantaneously. We can watch whatever we want. The entirety of the world's knowledge is often at our fingertips whether it's through phones or computers, we're able to learn to see everything that we could possibly desire and yet there are so many times when we choose to be rich in this world and broke in eternity.”

#KeepYourGazeOnGod
“What am I supposed to do when all the people are scattered from me? What am I supposed to do when the news says that there's another disaster happening? What am I supposed to do when people are afraid of what's going to happen with the stock market, with finances, with any number of things? How am I supposed to handle when my family is starting to go through troubles, when my relationships, when my marriage? How am I supposed to handle all of these different things that are happening at the same time? In our lives, it's really easy for us to begin to get our attention shifted onto all of the different problems that we see around us. Whether it's in politics, whether it's in relationships, whether it's finances, whatever it may be. It will be very easy for us to shift our gaze off of God and onto all of the things numbered like the seashore in multitude.”
