#SavedByGrace
“``And in this text, I believe he is telling you that there is nothing that you have done that is beyond my grace. When you cry out, Lord, save me, Jesus is going, I have. I've already done it. I went to the cross for you. I suffered and died for that. That thing that you are doing right now, that you do over and over, the way that you doubt me, I died for it to save you. He reaches out and takes you and he says, you are mine and I will not let you go.”

#GodWithUs
“I get filled with doubts. Do you? I'm a pastor, and I still doubt. When hard times really come, sometimes I'm doubting, God, are you really here in this? Do you even care? We've been through some tough things with diseases and with losing loved ones. We've we've had that call. Your dad is dying. Your mom is dying. Things are falling apart. Divorce is happening. Your your your son has a disease. All these things happen. And every time, there's this thing in you that starts going, are you really here in the midst of it? And in this text, Jesus is telling you, I am. am God, and I am with you. In the midst of your storm, Don't doubt it. I'm here.”

#JesusSaves
“I gotta be thinking that he's doubting whether or not Jesus would do it. Because Peter just screwed up really bad. Like, I got to walk on water. I made it all the way to Jesus, and then I doubted, and he's sinking. What I deserve now is just to drown. He should just let me go. But he cries out, Lord, save me. Have you ever been there? Have you ever done something that's so bad, something that's so wrong that you thought, I think this one's too big. Or you've done something so habitually over and over, that addiction that you've run back to over and over, and you think, there's no way he would save me from this. I'm not worthy of it. I don't deserve it. But Peter still cries out, Lord, save me. And what does Jesus do? It tells us immediately, that word again, Jesus reaches out and takes him by the hand. He saves him because Jesus is in the business of saving.”

#WalkOnWater
“Well, here's the thing about our God. Jesus is there. He says, I am, then he says, come on out. If Jesus says to you, you can walk on water, then you can walk on water. So Peter gets out of the boat and he steps out, and he can walk on water. And the text tells us that he came to Jesus. Now, need to pay attention to that. He didn't because I would usually picture it like he got out, he takes one step, and then he's like, oh, and he starts sinking. No. It says he walked to Jesus. Jesus was probably a little ways, and so he took several steps. And and the way the language speaks, he gets all the way to him. And then he doubts.”

#LoveYourNeighbor
“But he has told me I can love my neighbor. He has told me I can serve people. He has told me I can go share the good news of who he is. He has told me I can raise my kids in the faith. He has told me that I can love people right where they are. He has told me that he can change me and make me more and more the person he intends me to be. And if Jesus says he can do it, he can do it.”

#IAm
“I am. Now, if you're a first century Jewish person and you hear I am from him, what is Jesus saying in that moment? I am God. God. Because those are the words that in Hebrew, back with the burning bush when Jesus when God gives his name, he says, I am. I'm the I am ing one. Jesus, they're on the water saying, if I'm not a ghost, I am And then he says, don't be afraid. What were they just doing? They were being afraid. Jesus deals with all of their stuff in that moment because he's teaching them.”

#BeAWitness
“I I think we doubt whether or not we can go share our faith. We look at ourselves and say, I'm too much of a mess to go and do it, but Jesus says, you can. He says, you are my witnesses. Go and share the good news. If Jesus says you can do it, then you can do it. If he says you can walk on water, you can walk on water. Now, hasn't told me that one yet. That would be really cool.”

#MakeDisciples
“The other thing that I do is I doubt the things he tells me I can do. Just before Jesus ascends, he tells his disciples and through his disciples to you, go and make disciples. I think many of us doubt whether or not we can really make disciples of our children, whether we can really raise them in the faith in this broken world. God says you can, so you can.”
