#ObeyBeforeProvision
“We say, God, provide, then I'll obey. God says, obey, and then I'm gonna provide. And this is like one of the hardest parts of our journey because I think a lot of us have an idol, and it's an idol that most of us don't realize is an idol, but it's an idol of control. And we worship at the feet of this idol all the time. Like, God, I want you to go do all the things you said you're gonna do, but I need to control all the process and the timing behind it. And if I'm really in charge, then I'm willing to follow you. But god's like, I don't I don't really work that way.”

#ProvisionThroughPresence
“So that God always provides his provision. And he does it through his presence. And sometimes it may take us to a place where we have to struggle and we have to go through a hard season. We have to give something up that we love, but God will always provide. And I think we all have something that's like Isaac in our life that God wants us to trust him with. Because that other thing could become an idol. It could take the place of God in our life.”

#FindHopeInJesus
“just know this is that God sits there in the middle of it with you. And the moments you feel the most hopeless, God shows up time and time and time again. And so today, if you've never trusted Jesus and you're feeling the weight of the world and the brokenness in your life, I invite you right now to give your life to Jesus. You see the whole reason this whole story is there is because Jesus is the fulfillment of all of our hopes and dreams that we could actually find hope in this life and the next. And I think some of you are so tired of running, but today's the day you can stop and find a relationship with Jesus Christ.”

#MoriahPointsToChrist
“And if we wonder like if God's willing to to take us to a place that's that's too difficult, that he won't go there himself, Just realize that this entire story is pointing to what happened when Christ came. This entire story is ultimately a picture of God's provision. See, on this same mountain, two thousand years later, there'd be another son. That son would carry the wood that would ultimately be his altar up to the top of a hill.”

#TrustThroughTrials
“So here's what I want you to do. If you're somebody who's saying, I I I don't wanna trust God in this moment. I'm encouraging you to embrace the affliction that he's put in front of your life. Because it's gonna create endurance and that endurance will create character and that character is gonna bring hope. And if today you're holding on by a thread, just know this is that God sits there in the middle of it with you.”

#GodsCrucible
“And and there's no real shortcuts when it comes to testing. You can't just be like, I'm cheating off somebody else's test. We wanna have all the answers to the test just, like, spoon fed to us by the teacher. Or we wanna have, like, some kind of other way we can get out of whatever's going on in the moment of testing. But here's the thing. Testing is God's crucible to create something beautiful inside of you and something new and good.”

#LayLifeOnTheAltar
“So here is the invitation to you. If you wanna trust Jesus today and you've never done it or you wanna recommit your life to Jesus and you know you need to, just pray this with me right now and just say, Jesus, I trust you with my life. I give my life to you. All of it, every part of it. I I trust you of my past and my present and my future. And Jesus, I I lay my life on the altar because you gave your life for me. I'm giving you the thing that I'm scared to lose because you'll give me everything.”

#TestsGrowUs
“I think part of this that we need to understand is that testing is not a bad thing. There's a radical shift we need to make when it comes to the idea of testing. Because most of us dread tests, we dread how painful it is, We dread going through a season where God may grow us in our faith. But ultimately, the times of testing are moments where God does his best work. And I want you to know that today. Because I think a lot of us are going through a moment where we're being tested. And we're like, man, can I just get the test over so I can go back to my life? But God is using the moment of testing to do something special in us.”

#FaithWithoutAnswers
“And I want you to just kinda wrestle with some of this. Abraham doesn't know how God's gonna provide the answer to the test, but he knows that he will. And here you find a level of faith that's unlike what you see with how most people respond. You see what he says here? He says, hey, my son and I, we're gonna go worship over there. Y'all stay here. We're gonna go worship and then we're gonna, what? We're gonna come back.”

#SurrenderWhatYouLove
“And maybe today you're not thinking about a child, but you're thinking about something else that's deeply precious to you. Maybe it's your career or your looks or your your your connections or your friendships or your health. We all have something that we're unwilling to give back to God. And Abraham here, it's his son. But Abraham actually goes forward. And, you know, this is one of those things that I think is hard for us when we think about our relationship with God. Sometimes God calls us to do things that don't seem to make sense.”
41s
#GodsGreaterPlan
“First of all, that God did not want Isaac to die. God does not approve of child sacrifice. But two, that God's plan was greater than Abraham could imagine. And if we wonder like if God's willing to to take us to a place that's that's too difficult, that he won't go there himself, Just realize that this entire story is pointing to what happened when Christ came. This entire story is ultimately a picture of God's provision.”

#PresenceInPain
“And I think some of you need to hear that today because you're going through incredible affliction. You have a health condition that's really bringing you down or your parents are struggling and you don't know if they're gonna go home to see Jesus soon or you have a child that's far from Jesus right now, or you're going through a season where you're feeling really alone and God's not answering some of your prayers for community, or you're going through a season where you're just feeling incredibly depressed and life is not what you wanted it to be. And you can run from God in those moments and you can run from yourself in those moments and you can run to the TV and numb out. You can run to a drug and try to hide in it or you can try to sleep as much as you can or you can say, God is gonna be with me in the middle of this thing. And God's gonna give me his presence in the middle of this thing. And God wants to do something within me and I'm gonna embrace this affliction because it's gonna be God's instrument to do something special inside of my life.”

#FaithOverProof
“And steps into it without having all the answers. And this is what it looks like to live by faith. Again, most of us know this, and yet we really aren't really sure if we wanna step into this kind of a faith journey. Because here's the deal, most of us, I'll put myself in this category. We prefer proof before provision. God, I I want you to provide. I expect you to provide, but I need the proof first. Show me show me how you're gonna do it before you actually ask me to step out in faith. Like, if you could just show me the whole plan, then I'll sign off on it.”
44s
#TrustNotConditions
“And we do that with our marriages. We're like, hey, God. Listen. I you know, I'll step in as long as you show me that my husband's gonna change his behavior and watch this football this fall. Or I'll I'll, you know, I'm I'm gonna trust you with this this this job that I have as long as you give me the raise or you you give me some job security or, god, I'm gonna trust you as long as you give me the right spouse and they're just the right person for me. God, I'm gonna trust you as long as you show me all the steps I need to take in order to to to get to where I wanna go. And so we want proof before we see God providing, but that's not how God works.”
41s
#EnduranceBuildsCharacter
“But what happens when we take the radical step of embracing the testing, embracing the affliction that God puts in our life? Well, we begin to have a level of endurance that we'd never thought we had. And that endurance changes our character and develops us into looking like Jesus. And because we're going to look more like Jesus, we're becoming sanctified, then all of sudden we start having hope that there's something better that's out there. But it all starts by being somebody who's willing to embrace affliction. To say, I'm gonna step into affliction.”
