31s
“``The power of the resurrection compels us to give a drink to those who are thirsty, to put clothes on those who are burdened by the shame of nakedness, to forgive those who have been held captive by their sins for too long. That power works through us. If that happens, it comes through us. Jesus told Mary to go and tell the brothers everything they'd seen. So when you leave here today, tell someone what God has done for you.”
35s
“They're left there off to the side of the story, frozen by fear, and it always feels like to me they're still standing there today because we just forgot about them. The women, however, no less afraid. They're not overcome. They're inspired. What would happen if our fears inspired us more often? You see, they have joy. They're animated. And they're in this story to remind you and me that when hard things come, those hard things do not get to own or define us or frees us up.”
