Worship is not just about singing songs, but about offering your whole self—your actions, words, and work—as a living sacrifice to God, set apart and pleasing to Him in every environment, including your workplace. Whether you use your hands or your mind, your daily life can be an act of worship when you intentionally dedicate it to God, allowing Him to transform your heart and mind so that your work reflects His goodness. This means not conforming to the patterns of the world, but letting God renew your mind so you can discern His will and live it out wherever you are. [06:34]
Romans 12:1-2 (ESV)
I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
Reflection: In what specific way can you offer your work or daily routine as a living sacrifice to God today, making it an act of worship rather than just a task?
You are called to be a visible light in your workplace, a “city on a hill” whose actions and words reflect Jesus to those who may never set foot in a church or read a Bible. Your life may be the only gospel your colleagues ever encounter, so your consistency, kindness, and integrity matter deeply. Even when it’s difficult, you are on mission for the King, and your presence can bring unity, hope, and the love of Christ into challenging environments. [08:09]
Matthew 5:14-16 (ESV)
“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”
Reflection: What is one way you can intentionally let your light shine at work or in your community this week, so others see Jesus through you?
No matter your role—whether you are a manager, a stay-at-home parent, or in any other position—God calls you to serve Him with gladness and excellence, knowing that your work is ultimately for Him. When you dedicate your daily tasks to God and invite His presence, He anoints your efforts, gives you wisdom, and brings joy even in mundane or difficult circumstances. Serving with gladness transforms ordinary work into worship and opens the door for God’s presence to impact those around you. [13:12]
Psalm 100:2 (ESV)
Serve the Lord with gladness! Come into his presence with singing!
Reflection: How can you approach your work or responsibilities today with a heart of gladness, seeing them as service to the Lord rather than just obligations?
God equips and anoints you for the specific calling and tasks He has given you, whether in the workplace, at home, or elsewhere. Even when your environment is challenging or you feel overlooked, God is working in and through you, guiding you by His Spirit and giving you the strength and wisdom you need. Like David, who was anointed long before he became king, you may be in a season of waiting or obscurity, but God’s timing is perfect, and He delights in using your gifts for His glory. [18:45]
1 Samuel 16:12-13 (ESV)
And he sent and brought him in. Now he was ruddy and had beautiful eyes and was handsome. And the Lord said, “Arise, anoint him, for this is he.” Then Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the midst of his brothers. And the Spirit of the Lord rushed upon David from that day forward. And Samuel rose up and went to Ramah.
Reflection: Where do you feel overlooked or discouraged in your calling, and how can you invite God’s anointing and presence into that area today?
Work becomes worship when you dedicate it to God and perform it with an awareness of His presence, trusting that He is with you in every task, big or small. When you hope in the Lord and rely on His strength, He renews you, gives you endurance, and fills your work with purpose and joy. No matter what you do, when you do it for God and with God, you experience His pleasure and presence, turning even the most ordinary moments into holy ground. [22:44]
Isaiah 40:31 (ESV)
But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.
Reflection: What is one practical way you can dedicate your work or daily activities to God today, inviting His presence and strength into all you do?
A lifestyle of worship is not confined to Sunday mornings or church gatherings; it is meant to permeate every aspect of our lives, especially our workplaces. Whether in an office, a restaurant, or at home raising children, each of us is called to bring the presence of Jesus into our daily environments. True worship is not just about singing songs, but about offering our whole selves—our bodies, our work, our attitudes—as a living sacrifice to God. When we intentionally invite Jesus into our workspaces, we create opportunities for unity, transformation, and even for others to encounter the gospel, sometimes in unexpected ways.
Our workplaces are mission fields uniquely assigned to us. Many of our colleagues may never set foot in a church or read a Bible, but they can see Christ through our actions, our words, and our integrity. We are called to be a city on a hill, a light that cannot be hidden, reflecting the goodness of Jesus wherever we are. This means living consistently, not just on Sundays but every day, and resisting the temptation to conform to the patterns of the world around us. Our value is displayed not in what the world esteems, but in how we honor God with our lives.
Difficult work environments are not a sign that God has abandoned us; rather, they may be the very places He has called us to shine the brightest. Like David, Joseph, Daniel, and others in Scripture, we may find ourselves in challenging circumstances, but God’s purpose is often worked out in the waiting and the struggle. There is an anointing for each role we play—whether as a CEO, an accountant, a stay-at-home parent, or any other vocation. When we dedicate our work to God and remain aware of His presence, He guides us, empowers us, and even reveals solutions to problems we face.
Ultimately, the pleasure of the Lord is found not just in what we do, but in how we do it—with all our might, as an act of worship. When we run in our calling, we can feel His presence and pleasure, knowing that our work, done for Him, becomes worship. Work becomes worship when we dedicate it to God and perform it with an awareness of His presence.
Romans 12:1-2 — "Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will."
- Psalm 100:2
"Serve the Lord with gladness; come before his presence with singing."
- Ecclesiastes 9:10
"Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might..."
The big change for us was not the songs we sing, but it was thinking about the King. We were bringing Jesus into the workplace and it changed hearts. And that is what made the difference for us. [00:05:32]
In Romans 12, verse one to two, it says this, it says, therefore I urge you brothers and sisters in view of God's mercy to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God. This is your true and proper worship. Bodies as a sacrifice. This is proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and prove, approve what God's will is. His good, pleasant and perfect will. [00:05:51]
Whatever you use, your body should be a living sacrifice to the Lord. And that is your true worship. And, and we, we sometimes think that, you know, it's, it's, uh, it's only, it's only the pastors that's doing the Lord's work. It's only the pastors that's employed by the work, by the Lord. But you are in the environment where you are. It is your mission field. [00:06:46]
Each one of you, if you have a gifting, or maybe you are a manager, maybe you are, uh, maybe just someone that, that, that can encourage well, the Lord has put you in that environment for that reason. How many of your colleagues that's sitting there never go to church? They probably never read the Bible. They weren't put on worship music. You are there for this reason. How are they going to hear the gospel if it's not by, not through you? Who is going to teach them the gospel? Who is going to preach? Your life, your life is a testimony. You are sometimes the only Bible they will ever read. [00:07:13]
Preach the gospel if necessary, use words. So it's going to be your lifestyle. That's going to reflect. Are you going to be that colleague? That's going to be there for them. [00:08:05]
You are a city on a hill, a light that cannot be hidden, a living sacrifice proclaiming the goodness of Jesus wherever you are. [00:08:47]
Do not be conformed to the patterns of this world, but be transformed by the renewal, yeah, by the renewal of your mind. So you are in this world, but you're not from this world. [00:09:03]
We can be here on a Sunday worshiping and it's amazing. You know, you can, I will follow you and you're worshiping and, and that's the Sunday and you all in holy church mode on a Sunday. And then Monday comes and potty mouth Johnny comes out again. And all of a sudden, eh, you're entertaining all this, this, this office gossip again. And you, who are you reflecting when you are in your workplace? How are you treating people? How are you behaving? Are you different on a Sunday than a Monday? Shouldn't be. You should be the same. You should be consistent. [00:09:16]
If we display our value in the world, we worship the world. If we display our value in God, we worship God. I want to say this again. If we display our value in the world, we worship the world. If we display our value in God, we worship God. [00:09:58]
Your colleagues, do they know you're a Christian or are you one of those undercover ninja Christians? Do they know it by your life and through your life? Are you a living sacrifice? [00:10:20]
Maybe you are not called to be comfortable in the working place, maybe you're not called to be comfortable, but what I can say you are called to be on mission for the King wherever you are. You are on mission and the Lord has put you there for this reason. [00:12:50]
Psalm 100 verse 2 says this serve the Lord with gladness come before his presence with singing serve him guys wherever you go ecclesiastes 9 verse 10 says this whatever your hand finds to do do it with all your might. [00:13:14]
If you are a Christian the moment you enter your office or factory or shop you are a Christian there you are serving Christ there I'm going to say it again if if you are a Christian the moment you enter your office your factory your shop you're a Christian there you are serving Christ there serve him and we are called to be a living sacrifice. [00:13:39]
When you are living out your calling it's not always the easiest but there's anointing from the Lord when you are there and you hear the Holy Spirit and what you do there's anointing from the Lord. [00:14:15]
Maybe some of you are not in a workplace but you you uh stay -at -home moms you're working moms you are you are full -time raising those kids and you feel like i i can't relate to this man do you understand that you are raising future leaders there do you understand that that might be future you know world leaders or or future future church leaders that can lead so many people to jesus there was a prophetic word that went out about the the future generations i feel that is true and even in your children because you are willing to spend that time there's anointing on you to be that mother to be that father. [00:14:45]
There's anointing on you to raise those kids there's anointing on you to if you are accountant man there's anointing on you to do those those math you need the anointing to do that if you are someone that that is a ceo maybe maybe you are just in sales the lord uses you and he anoints what you do if you are there and you're running and you're calling the lord anoints you to do that. [00:15:38]
You know the Lord will reveal things to you by his Spirit whatever your position is and all of a sudden we could finalize that that financial year within a record timing it was amazing it was the it was the hand of the Lord. [00:16:48]
God has a way of finding us when his time comes not your time his time and in that waiting the Lord is working. [00:19:29]
What has the Lord called you to do that is going to be your true worship in the working space? [00:20:30]
When I run I feel his presence I feel his pleasure when I run I feel his pleasure when I run I feel the pleasure of the Lord now imagine how that feels. [00:21:04]
Isaiah 40 verse 31 says but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength they will soar on wings like eagles they will run and not grow weary they will walk and not grow friend. [00:21:54]
Work becomes worship when you dedicate it to God and perform it with an awareness of his presence I'm reading it again work becomes worship when you dedicate it to God and perform it with awareness of his presence. [00:22:53]
