The way you think shapes the way you live, and God calls you to a life that is transformed by the renewal of your mind, not conformed to the patterns of this world. True spiritual worship is not just about singing or outward expressions, but about presenting your whole self—body and mind—to God, allowing Him to change you from the inside out. When you focus on God and intentionally shift your thinking, you begin to discern His will and experience the kind of life He desires for you: good, acceptable, and perfect. This transformation is not about trying harder in your own strength, but about letting God reshape your thoughts, habits, and responses so that your life becomes attractive to others and points them to Him. [34:40]
Romans 12:1-2 (ESV)
I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
Reflection: What is one specific thought pattern or habit you need to surrender to God today so He can begin renewing your mind in that area?
God desires that your life be noticeably different—so much so that others are drawn to Him by the way you live. Like Daniel, who stood out in a godless culture by serving God with gladness and wisdom, you are called to live in such a way that your actions and attitudes are ten times better, not just your knowledge. The Christian faith grows not by promotion, but by attraction; when people see the joy, peace, and integrity in your life, they become curious about the God you serve. Ask yourself if your life is truly reflecting the winsome spirit and excellence that makes others want what you have in Christ. [38:00]
Daniel 1:20 (ESV)
And in every matter of wisdom and understanding about which the king inquired of them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and enchanters that were in all his kingdom.
Reflection: In what area of your life can you intentionally display a winsome spirit or excellence today that might attract someone to Christ?
Life is not random; the choices you make and the habits you form have real consequences, even if those consequences are delayed. The world may tell you to follow your heart or that life is unpredictable, but God’s Word teaches that whatever a person sows, that will they also reap. This principle means that your daily actions—good or bad—will eventually bear fruit in your life. While the world’s system may offer shortcuts or temporary pleasures, God’s way leads to lasting fulfillment, even if the results are not immediate. Be mindful of what you are sowing today, because it will shape your tomorrow. [54:09]
Galatians 6:7 (ESV)
Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap.
Reflection: What is one small, positive action you can sow today that will lead to a better outcome in the future?
You were not created to go through life alone; meaningful change and growth happen best in the context of supportive relationships. There are hills in life you simply cannot get down by yourself, and God’s design is that you have allies—friends who encourage, challenge, and walk with you through difficult times. Whether it’s a sensitive tear, truth without fear, a good cheer, a listening ear, or even a kick in the rear, the right people in your life can help you become who God wants you to be. Don’t isolate yourself; instead, seek out and invest in relationships that help you grow and stay on the right path. [01:05:05]
Genesis 2:18 (ESV)
Then the Lord God said, “It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper fit for him.”
Reflection: Who is one person you can reach out to today for encouragement or accountability in an area where you want to grow?
General intentions rarely lead to real change; it’s the specific, intentional steps you take that make a difference in your life. While it’s easy to hear a message and generally decide to do better, true transformation happens when you identify one concrete habit or behavior to change and ask God for help. Sometimes, physically doing something—like kneeling in prayer or taking a small step of obedience—can trigger the mental and spiritual shift you need. Don’t let today be just another day of good intentions; choose one thing to do differently and trust God to help you follow through. [01:09:43]
James 1:22 (ESV)
But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.
Reflection: What is one specific action you will take today to begin the change God is prompting in your heart?
Managing the mind is at the heart of living a transformed and attractive Christian life. The mind is more powerful than we often realize—sometimes even more powerful than medicine itself. Scripture, especially Romans 12, calls for the renewal of our minds, not just outward conformity. True spiritual worship is not just about singing or rituals, but about how we live in our bodies, how we act in the world, and how we allow God to shape our daily lives. The Christian life is meant to be so compelling that others are drawn to it by its quality, not by our promotion.
Daniel’s example in a godless culture shows that a winsome, glad spirit and a life lived God’s way can stand out as “ten times better.” Yet, it’s not enough to know more; the real question is whether our lives are actually better, more joyful, and more attractive because of what we believe. Change is hard because so much of our behavior is subconscious, driven by habit patterns and our “Adam suit”—the unredeemed body that just wants comfort and pleasure. The world’s system feeds these desires, offering shortcuts and rationalizations, but God’s principles are different: what we sow, we will eventually reap.
Most people only change when they have no choice, when the consequences become unavoidable. But great people, great churches, and great lives change before they have to, constantly renewing their minds and habits. This process is not meant to be done alone. Relationships are crucial—having allies who encourage, challenge, and walk with us makes all the difference. There are hills in life we simply cannot get down by ourselves.
Ultimately, our bodies will not last, but Jesus came to give us a new life and, one day, a new body. We cannot redeem ourselves or our “Adam suit,” but by faith in Christ, we receive his righteousness and the promise of resurrection. The invitation is to make a specific change, not just a general intention, and to let God’s Spirit work through both our minds and our actions.
Romans 12:1-2 — "I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect."
- Daniel 1:20
"And in every matter of wisdom and understanding about which the king inquired of them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and enchanters that were in all his kingdom."
- Galatians 6:7
"Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap."
Let me ask you, is your life 10 times better? Oh, I know you have 10 times more knowledge, but is your life 10 times better? Is your marriage 10 times better? At work, are you 10 times better? Because I believe the world is going to grow not by promoting stuff, but by us being attractive and winsome if they say, hey, that’s the kind of life I would like to live. [00:38:21] (26 seconds)
Change usually happens when people have no choice. But let me tell you this. Great people, great companies, great churches change before they have to. They change before they have to. They realize this is the best way to do it. This is the best way to live. This is how God had in mind. They constantly renew their mind. [00:48:06] (22 seconds)
It’s not good to be alone. Genesis chapter two, verse 18, for the Lord God said, it is not good for man to be alone. You cannot live a great life alone. You need people in order to encourage you, to be there with you. [00:49:30] (16 seconds)
The Apostle Paul, probably the greatest Christian that ever lived. Probably the greatest Christian ever lived. The Apostle Paul. You know what he said about his Adam suit? Look it up in Romans. You know what he said? The things I want to do, I don’t do. That’s what the Apostle Paul said. The things I want to do, I don’t. And the things I don’t want to do, I end up doing. Now, that’s not a teenager. That’s the greatest Christian that ever lived. So what does that mean for you? That means you’re in serious trouble. That’s what that means. [00:52:49] (31 seconds)
You don’t want to listen to your heart, you know. If I listened to my heart, I’d weigh 400 pounds. You can’t listen to me. Your heart is deceitful above all things. You don’t follow your heart, you’ll end up in a mess, all right. Don’t listen to that stuff. You talk to your heart, you tell your heart what’s important. [00:56:38] (18 seconds)
If consequences happened immediately, I wouldn’t have to go around the country telling people how to live. You’d figure it out. I mean, if you took a bite of Krispy Kreme and fat went, bloop, you’d go, good night. Did you see that fat jump out of that donut? That’s a powerful donut. I don’t think I want to even get close to that donut. [00:57:52] (24 seconds)
Let me tell you about life. There are going to be some hills in life. You can’t get down by yourself. You’re going to need some people in your life. You’re going to need some friends in your life. You need a friend who can give you a sensitive tear. Somebody to just cry with you. Especially if you’re a guy, life gets hard. Sensitive tear. Somebody give you truth without fear. Somebody to tell you the truth. Especially if you’re on the top of a company, you need somebody to tell you the truth. Truth rarely goes upward. It goes downward, but it rarely goes upward. You need somebody to tell you the truth. Truth without fear. You need a good cheer. Somebody just encourage you. Somebody encourage you. And a listening ear. Somebody just listen to you. And then finally, sometimes you just need a kick in the rear, don’t you? Some friend will say, quit throwing a pity party. It’s called life. Grow up and show up and do what you’re supposed to do. [01:05:41] (58 seconds)
Jesus came and lived a life you could never live. Your Adam suit won’t let you. You never really do your best. You can’t. And your body’s not going to last. But Jesus wanted you and his forever family. So he came and lived a life you could never live. You get credit for his righteousness. You get credit for what he did. And then when you die, he promises, I’m going to give you a new body. [01:08:08] (32 seconds)
