Sermon Summary

Sermon Clips

1) "The first one's called Plot Twist, and we taught you that week that your story is a key that can set someone free. We taught you that your story needs Jesus, and that for some people, the reason that their stories have not come out of a place where they feel trapped or where it still feels like they're suffering or going through stuff is because they've yet to give it to the Lord. The other thing we taught that week is that Jesus needs your story because he's going to use that story to help other people." [42:29] (24 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)

2) "And so many times, people, and I say this, I'm giving grace and then I'm giving a club. But so many times, people struggle when it comes to loss, especially sudden loss. Christians. And. And I admit on that, it's natural, but let me come on the other side of it. I struggle sometimes when Christians struggle in what appears to be an overly shocked and almost betrayed way, because the Bible is clear. And I make sure that I convey this all the time to every one of us that are here today. Let me help you understand. None of us are guaranteed tomorrow. Do you understand that? None of us are. The Bible lets us know that. Life is but a vapor. It's here one minute and then it's gone." [49:57] (50 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)

3) "But even through the loss that hit suddenly and through all of the questions that they naturally had, they ran to Jesus. And while that part of the testimony is amazing, the better part is the testimony didn't end there. Okay? And I'm not just talking about the financial blessings that came in, the different things that... talking about in their own lives. And it's been such an honor watching this family push forward. It's been such an honor, especially to me, to expound on his story that Dylan shared. It's been an honor to watch Dylan and Tiffany and how they have continued to grow spiritually as a couple, as parents, but spiritually in the church." 4) "Take home principle number 12. Number one, right out of the gate. Here it is. We absolutely need to share our stories. But we have to. I'm saying this. We have to be sure that we do not get stuck in our stories. Here's the principle. Your story is a tool, not an identity. Okay? Your story is a tool. Even a weapon. But it's not an identity. Be careful not to get stuck." [54:57] (30 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)

5) "God did not design you to sit on a wall. He did not design you to sit in the booth and tell people an amazing story that happened to you at one point in your life. He designed you to walk with him, to share every story and to get new stories and to share those stories. And to be a representation, hands and feet showing the love of Christ everywhere you go continually. I praise God for the testimonies. I praise God for the amazing things that I've been through. I praise God for the amazing things that you have been through. And they're all phenomenal. And I rejoice in that." [01:03:08] (43 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)

6) "Just because God hasn't, that doesn't mean that he isn't going to, or that he won't. It just means that he hasn't yet. Don't give up. Don't give up. Was it last week I was talking about the statement of people giving up on the verge of a miracle? Don't give up. Trust God. I don't see how God is going to get me through. I don't either. Let's don't give up. Let's trust God. Because his ways are higher than our ways, and his thoughts are higher than our thoughts. And just because we can't see a way out doesn't mean he can't." 7) "I have never promised anybody. And God has never promised anybody that life with him means you'll never have a problem. I've never promised you that your phone will never ring in the middle of the night or that you won't get a surprise, knock on your door, text message that just flips your world upside down. Hey there, man. I've never said that. God's never said that. And, and, and he and I both have done our best to tell you the opposite. Hey, this world stinks. It's a messed up, jacked up world full of sin and sorrow." [01:11:50] (41 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)

8) "The only thing that will get you through is a intimate relationship with jesus christ so we're gonna pray and this is i'm gonna lead you all for for those of you who've been around here i i rarely let a week go by that i don't lead our entire congregation in what some would call a sinner's prayer it's an opportunity really just to help people put their faith in jesus christ and i always say something like this the simple truth is that we were born into a sinful world in a sinful state in need of a savior every one of us okay products of adam and eve born into sin but god loved us so much that he chose not to leave us in that sinful state and said he sent his son jesus who was born of virgin birth and lived a completely sinless life yet willingly died a sinner's death on a cross to pay for my sin and your sin and the sins of the world okay and and what he did in doing that is he made it possible for us to not have to pay the wages of that sin which is death but we can have eternal life because of him and the way we do that is simply by putting our faith in jesus confessing with our mouth that he is lord and believing in our heart that god's raised him from the dead we make a decision to serve him to ask him to forgive us of our sins and we walk forward new and doing our best to follow him and to live a righteous life and by the way if you mess up just confess and repent and keep going okay you there's no being good enough to qualify for salvation he paid it all you're qualified you don't have to wait till you get to a certain place you don't have to wait you don't have to wait till you get to a certain place you overcome this addiction or that addiction. You don't have to wait until you get over this, this agitation or that agitation until you learn to forgive this person. No, you come just the way you are. He will forgive you just the way you are and he'll grow you through it." [01:13:57] (120 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)
