#GraceThroughFaith
“We are not saved by good works. We are saved by grace through faith alone in Christ Jesus. That's the reformation declaration from Martin Luther. But the very next words tell us that we are created in Christ Jesus to do good works. So they come hand in hand, for we are God's handiwork created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepare in advance for us to do. So works are not the root of our salvation. Works are the fruit of our salvation.”

#BiblicalHope
“But what kind of hope does the Bible speak to us about? Biblical hope is not wishful thinking. It is not I hope things will be better. It's not simply positive thinking or telling ourselves everything will be okay. Christian hope is confidence in God, what he has promised, and what Christ will ultimately fulfill. Amen? Everything fall apart, everything fall away. Our life may be the end of it, but we can trust God and Jesus Christ. So for the Thessalonians, that hope was firmly rooted in Jesus Christ and his promised return.”

#LoveInAction
“Paul is saying, I don't just see that you love. I see your love at work. I see your love costing you something. Because biblical love is not just feeling. Biblical love is more than lip service. It is not a noun. It is not an adjective. It is a verb. Love is something we do. Love takes actions. Love serves, love sacrifices, love gives, makes time.”

#EnduringHope
“Faith produces work, love produces labor. Now, hope produces endurance. In another way to see it, faith asks, what am I trusting in? Love asks, what am I willing to sacrifice? And now we look at hope asks, what keeps me going when the going tough. The reason why the Thessalonians could sustain such endurance, that's because their endurance is inspired by hope.”

#FaithThatWorks
“God's grace doesn't stop working the moment we are safe. The grace that save us is the same grace that continues to transform us. good works begin to flow from that transformed light. That's exactly what Paul saw in the Thessalonians. If someone look at our lives, would they see the evidence of our faith? Because genuine faith doesn't remain hidden or unseen. Faith, that is a life, will eventually show itself through our work, through our life.”

#ShareTheGospel
“The gospel came to them and then the gospel rang out to them. The gospel came in and the gospel went out. They received the gospel and then they released the gospel. Is the gospel ringing it out from us? Isn't the gospel the greatest blessing and the most glorious hope we could share with someone? It keeps on expanding and then continue on to spread through the early churches.”

#SacrificialLove
“the gospel truly takes hold a person's heart. When Christ's love takes hold of us, we begin to see people differently. Sacrifices doesn't feel quite the same anymore. When you love your children, what do you do? Especially baby, you wake up in the middle of the night. When you love your family, your spouse, you make sacrifices. When you love someone who is hurting, you make time for them. Why? Because love changes the way we see sacrifice. God's love is not turning inward. It is moving us outward. That's why Paul's called this the labor of love. Love is willing to pay the price.”

#FaithfulService
“His pain does not stop his love for God. His pain does not stop his service to God, and that is the labor prompted by love. What about us? What does our love for Christ and for one another look like in our daily lives? Can we say, I may be tired, I may be drawn out, but I still want to serve? Because love is willing to pay the price. Let's be honest.”

#GospelTransformation
“And for all of us who have already believed in Christ, let us ask ourselves honestly, is the gospel still transforming the way we live? Did we just treat the gospel? I heard it once. I put it aside. I'm on the way to heaven. Is it still transforming our lives? Is it still transforming our families? Is it still transforming our church? The gospel is so powerful. No doubt about it. Do we come to the gospel daily? We come to the gospel for renewal, for transformation, for the forgiveness of sin.”

#LordINeedYou
“Whatever seasons you are in today, we all come to this same place. Before God, we are all the same. Not going to trust in our own strength, but depending solely and fully on Jesus. Here's our heart, Lord. I need you for our faith. I need you for our love. I need you for endurance. I need you for our family. I need you for our ministries, for our church. I need you for our future. Some of us will say, I need you for our children. Whatever that you need, let this be our prayer today. Lord,”

#EnduranceInChrist
“And amidst the tight security, under the constant surveillance from the authorities, I tell you, there's no time to do any other thing except to do God's work. When you're rolling the boat, no time to rock the boat. I remember many, many times. Sometimes I also sit down, don't know what to do. I cry when the mission became difficult, when the ministry become exhausting. It is the enduring in Christ that kept us going instead of quitting and throwing in the tower.”

#UnityInEssentials
“When you think about the Greek works of God, that is very minute. So we major on the major. We might not agree on everything, you know. Yeah. You're working with the German, it's very different. You work with American, know, British, they're all western. It's very different. Same Asian, Malaysian, Singaporean, Korean are different. We might not agree on everything, but we could agree on what matter the most.”

#HopeInChrist
“Because when we know that Christ is coming again, we know that our present struggles, whatever may be, big or small, are not the end of the story. Our circumstances may be difficult today. Our prayers may be unanswered today. Our service may seem unnoticed today. But today is not the end of the story. That's why Hebrew say, as long as there's today, there is hope.”

#TrustJesus
“For the Thessalonians, their faith was in Jesus Christ. They were no longer trusting in their idols. They were no longer trusting in themselves. They were learning to trust Christ their most difficult circumstances. And church, the same is true for us. Ultimately, our faith is never is not on our ability to hold everything together. Our faith is in Jesus Christ. The one who truly hold us and everything together. Our faith is not in certainty of our circumstances. Our faith is in the certainty of Christ.”

#HolySpiritLed
“The gospel was not advanced by human plans alone. To be accurate, to be biblical, it was advanced under the guidance and the power of the Holy Spirit. And that is an important reminder for us today. We can make plan, plan twenty twenty seven, whatever you call it. We can make our strategies. We can make our programs. But ultimately, we need the Holy Spirit to lead us where God want us to go. Amen?”
