How many want that same story? And so the question is, who's writing your story? God wants to write your story. Are you letting Him write your story? And so if you're a follower of Christ, here's the warning. The Apostle Paul, he's a spiritual leader, a spiritual father to a number of different churches in the New Testament. And one church in Corinth, he writes this to believers in 2 Corinthians 11, verse 3. He says, but I'm afraid that just as Eve was deceived by the serpent's cunning, he's speaking to the original sin in the garden where Satan in the form of a serpent deceived Eve. 4. "When you're depressed, when you're down, when those thoughts come in and there's darkness, don't isolate. That will leave you stuck. Connect with God. Connect with another person. You see, I felt like my faith tank was empty, but I knew my friend's faith would redirect me, would help me reconnect with God's truth. And what did he do? He listened and then that's exactly what he did. He redirected my mind, my thoughts to God's truth. And what happened? God began to resurrect hope in my life. My mind began to be renewed by God's truth and hope began to spring up and God's purpose in my life came back and a passion came back and my mood lifted and my heart lifted and my spirit was energized." 5. "So did you catch that in our verse in John 14, 27, that the renewal of your mind that Jesus is offering, the world cannot give it to us? We can't find it in our job. We can't find it in a relationship. We can't find it in what this world has to offer. Only Jesus offers that type of gift. And so for me at that time in my life, my pattern of thinking was that I don't have what it takes, that I don't have what it takes, that I don't have what it takes to honor God with my life and to be a quote success." 6. "If you're caught in depression, if you're caught in thought patterns that are destructive and unhealthy, you will be unable to even know what God's will is for your life. And let me highlight this in Romans 12 too, what we just read. This is in the passive voice. The renewing of your mind, it's in the passive voice. What does that mean? It's not something that we do necessarily but something that is done to us. It's something that Jesus wants to do to us. Yet we must position ourselves so that Jesus can renew our minds." 7. "If you think about it pray about it. Philippians 4, 6 and 7 don't worry about anything. How many think that's easier said than done? Especially if you have kids right? Don't worry about anything. Instead this is why we need God's word. Instead pray about everything. Tell God what you need. Thank Him for what He has already done. Then everybody say then. Because if you do that then you will experience God's peace. Which exceeds anything we can understand. And this is so cool. His peace will guard your hearts and what else? Your minds. 8. "Give all your worries and cares to God for He cares for you. And when we take our worried thoughts to the Lord what are we doing? We're saying God I give this to you. Because I can't carry it.
