Sermon Clips

1. "All of us respond primarily because of what we think about a situation or even the way that we view ourselves. And so when we get our thinking on the right track, our response becomes the right response. A lot of people want change, but they don't realise, I think, that it begins by thinking. But when you begin to think the right kind of thoughts, and think and begin to believe that you can make a difference, it's amazing the difference you can make." 2. "You just kept being there in present and just kept saying hi. And I began to believe something could be different. Amazing how a small seed can change so much. Just through the beginning of a word, into a place that somebody even at the time of saying just stay away, no, our words can create a future. The way that we talk, the way that we think will define what our tomorrow will look like. In fact, the way you think, the way I think, prophesies my future." 3. "We're believing God for miracles. We're believing God will make a change, but you've got to change the way you think, because when you change the way you think, then you begin to speak differently. to speak, the seeds that create incredible potential. So just be careful that you realign, Yeah, even right now, I've had, Maria and I, well, I've been going through it, but maybe four of the hardest months of recent times as I'm going through further treatment for swelling around the brain." 4. "And so it's so easy when we fail or go through a challenge to start speaking and thinking challenge and thinking failure. Whereas God says, no, your thoughts direct your future. And so if you get your thinking right and align your thinking with God's way, everything has a platform of something spectacular. So even in the cancer treatment, it's kind of like I had to redirect my thoughts. I've had to constantly, say, when you're going through this, oh, there's more swelling on the brain. We don't know what it is yet. It's kind of like, well, it's in God's hands." [09:27] (31 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)

5. "The reality of the world that we live in, unfortunately, is centred around me and what I get out of what I'm doing. Whereas the way of the kingdom is to reverse the current. And I do believe that generosity releases you, let alone releases the help needed in another situation. And so therefore, it's so important when the current's going downstream and saying, no, just look after yourself and protect what you have and everything's going to custard. The Bible says, no, generosity is the planting of a seed that understands it can create a new life." [13:47] (39 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)

6. "I think resilience is something, again, that can be developed. I don't think we start out being resilient. I think it's a challenge that we face, whatever that might be, that we kind of contend with and often give way to. But over the last three years, through the darkness and the gaps and the strength of the challenge, it again has developed in me a greater resilience. I remember the first brain op we had that basically they said, it's quite likely you won't live through this. And we did live through it." 7. "Resilience is something that I don't believe can be formed in us unless we go through the hard stuff. So how do you learn to become a gold medal champion or a bronze medal champion or whatever? It's because you've failed. You've failed many times. But resilience says that's not the end of the story. Failure is not the end of the story. It's only a part of the journey. And I just want to encourage and challenge everyone to say, if you're going through tough times, or life has been tough, what a great example you could be with people doing it tougher than you." 8. "I think feelings can cause you to go searching down paths that bring no answers. And we're in a world that is second guessing so much, in life, because they're yet to discover that fulfilment and final completion is discovered when you realise you've been created in the image of God. And God, even in his creation, this might sound controversial, but it's truth from God's word, is that God created male and female. God created the wonder of that. That's not to put condemnation on people, but it's like that's God's way." [22:50] (42 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)

9. "When you find God and align to his image, then you're complete. And that completion is just something you can't describe. And it's something you don't have to force on anyone. Christianity is not about forcing any belief on people. It's about standing and being a reflection of the truth that's been discovered and saying, like Jesus, whosoever wants it can come and get it. Because I love you, I believe in you, and I have the answer. And I'll bring you back to a place of understanding who you are." [24:19] (86 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)

10. "And you get generous. Get generous with your time at work. If I use that illustration, you'll find promotion will come. Get generous in your attitude. Help other people in the hospital ward when you've got a death prognosis. There's other people around you that have that. Don't have the faith or the insight that you have. So you be the one planting those seeds of whatever the outcome is. There is a bigger picture than our life here on earth. And I just want to encourage you, start with generosity."
