And that kind of shows about how Jesus works in our lives. See, before we come to Jesus, we are dirty. We have sin and stains and baggage and all this other stuff that's going on in our lives. We're dirty. We're dirty. He takes us and he says, oh, Hadley, you've got a little dirt in your hair and you've kind of, you know, he brushes it off and he starts to clean us up.

Lord, at this last week we we had an election and some people's candidate won and some did not and regardless of the outcome whether it was our candidate or not that won you are still working but you call us followers of you to not gloat if we've won and be angry if we haven't Lord help us to shine your light in us to do what we need to do to to best relevant and to best to begin the work that God has laid out for you and reward that work that represent you to a world that so desperately needs you in this time

we're getting close to the end of our journey in nehemiah and as we get close we see that it is less about the kind of the challenges of starting from complete brokenness to a place where there is some wholeness and healing in the people of nehemiah but they're realizing at this point that their healing and wholeness isn't actually wholeness at all there's things that continue to pop up that they need to repent and turn from and commit to the lord

It's always this, your spiritual walk isn't just an uphill climb to salvation. Jesus, it is this climb where we do good for a while, and then we kind of level off, and we go forward, and we go, and Lord willing, it isn't always an upward trend, but it is this following great, then not so much, then coming back, and that's where the people in Nehemiah are at. So they made this commitment to God, saying, we're going to commit to change.

Living set apart keeps our devotion strong. In Nehemiah, they're talking about, you shouldn't marry non -Christians. In that day, it was non -Jews. But for us, if you are a Christian guy or girl, you should not be pursuing a relationship with a non -Christ follower.

I'm going to be honest with you. I realized this in my own life where when I would cut corners and kind of be like, well, God's got grace. I would start to follow and I wouldn't be able to follow God. I wouldn't be able to hear the Holy Spirit as well in my life. As we follow and offer our whole lives up as sacrifices to him going, you know, I know God says we shouldn't do that. So I'm not going to do that.

Faithful presence in God's house strengthens the whole body see as the church and i'm not talking about sunday attendance per se that's great we want you here on sunday we want you to be a part of our community but the reality is is that if we're not in the church body in a whole we are not using the gifts and when we aren't here it just it actually takes away from our church

May Friesland Community Church be a church that shines not just a little bit for Jesus because we're not all working together, but as we put all of our efforts and every gift that God has given us to be that light here and around. Wouldn't it be great if we in the next year had people from Markazan, Dalton, Randolph, Fox Lake, I know I'm going the wrong way, Fox Lake, Partyville, all over the place. I said, there's something going on in Friesland Community Church and it's something special.
