1. "Paul here he is writing to believers. So this is not just their message, it's our message. Paul's making an important distinction here between who we were before Jesus and who we were to be after Jesus. Who we were when we were part of the world and who we were called to be as part of Gods kingdom." [39:55] (25 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)

2. "The problem for Christians and for us is when cultural ideologies take the place of our theology. So with that in mind, what does the world believe? So if you're following along on your note sheets, what the world believes, number one, we are basically good. The world believes that we are just basically good." 3. "Yes, we are created in God's image, but because of a broken world, we are not able to live out what we were created to be. We live in a world, we live in a culture where no one is bad. The world tells us that we think everyone is good. And we kind of believe that everyone at their core is good. They have good intentions. They're not bad." 4. "The world thinks that being moral is the path to heaven. If we're good people, if we make good choices, if we're nice, if we volunteer, if we give, we're going to get into heaven. The problem is that your morals aren't grounded by something solid. If you're grounding your morals in what the world thinks, it's liquid. It's unstable." 5. "We cannot live without God. We cannot have a holy life. We cannot have a holy life. We cannot have a holy life. We cannot have a holy life without the Holy Spirit. Paul kind of shifts his language slightly in verse 3. He goes from using the term you in verses 1 and 2 to we in verse 3." [57:35] (15 seconds) ( | | )

6. "Yes, church, you're spiritually dead, but because of Jesus, you are alive, which leads us to number two of what God's kingdom is all about. The path to heaven is Jesus. I know you're thinking right now, like, are all of these Sunday school answers? Yes, they are. The answer is Jesus." [59:18] (27 seconds) ( | | )

7. "The devil, this broken world, their only goal is to keep us away from Jesus. You see, the enemy is not out to mess up your life. The enemy is out to mess up your eternity. And God loves you so much that through his grace, he gives Jesus to all people and all who will turn from sin to a right relationship with Jesus." [01:01:24] (29 seconds) ( | | )

8. "God grades on your relationship with Jesus. Doesn't grade on a curve. Grades on a relationship with Jesus. Back in verse five, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ. By grace, you have been saved and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places. In Christ Jesus." [01:03:14] (28 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)

9. "We have a calling in our lives. We've been created new in Christ. So we can go and do good works. So we can go share Jesus with others. You see, good works, they're not the cause of our salvation, but they are the result of our salvation." [01:10:28] (19 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)

10. "Every reason for God's mercy and love is found in him. It is not found in us. We give him no reason to love us. Yet in his greatness, he loves us with great love anyways. Therefore, we have to stop trying to make ourselves lovable to God and simply receive his love, recognizing that we're unworthy. His grace is what we need."
