The demons within him recognized Jesus and pleaded not to be sent into the abyss, revealing their fear of His authority. Jesus, in His compassion, commands the demons to leave the man, allowing them to enter a herd of pigs, which then rush into the lake and drown. [00:03:20]

The Bible says at the moment of belief the Holy Spirit comes into you and possesses your body. So you don't have to fear, can a demon then come in and possess me? No, once the Holy Spirit takes residence in your life, no demon can enter into your body. [00:05:01]

The demons begged Jesus to let them go into them, and he gave them permission. When the demons came out of the man, they went into the pigs, and the herd rushed down the steep bank into the lake and was drowned. [00:13:36]

The demons are begging Jesus, "Don't send us to the abyss." What is the abyss? If you remember a couple of years ago when we were studying The Book of Revelation, and Revelation chapter, remember there was that angel or that star, it says, which can mean angel, that came down with a key and unlocked the door to the abyss. [00:15:09]

God is showing the sanctity of human life here and saying, look, this is a human being pulling these demons out of him. But I'm sure most of you didn't struggle with that as sin in Jesus, but clearly, he did not sin here. He's done doing a wonderful act of grace in pulling these demons out of this man. [00:18:49]

The people went out to see what had happened. When they came to Jesus, they found the man from whom the demons had gone out sitting at Jesus's feet, dressed and in his right mind, and they were afraid. Those who had seen it told the people how the demon-possessed man had been cured. [00:19:32]

The man from whom the demons had gone out begged to go with him, but Jesus sent him away, saying, return home and tell how much God has done for you. So the man went away and told all over town how much Jesus had done for him. [00:24:54]

If you are a believer in Jesus Christ, that sin has no power over you. It only controls you because you allow it to control you. The Bible is very clear, very, very clear on this issue that there is no temptation that's in your life, no matter how hard you think it is. [00:28:37]

Are you happy with the ordinary? Are you content with the ordinary? Are you like those people in that city that go, well, you know, I was just happy with life as it was. I'm just happy, you know, just give me my job, just give me another year here on this Earth. [00:34:09]

I bet there the majority of Christians in America don't even trust, don't even totally trust that heaven is better than what they've got right now. In fact, if there were an offer today for every Christian in America to say today you could leave this earth and head to Heaven, I bet you half the people would say I don't want to go yet. [00:35:32]

I don't know about you, but I don't want to just keep living life down here as another person, just an ordinary person. But I pray, and I've been praying more than ever, God, do amazing things through me that people would look at me and go, how in the world did he do that? [00:37:47]

Help us to really trust you, to trust that God, to even long to leave this earth. God, some of us, we've made ourselves so comfortable here, it's like we want to stay, not trusting that you've got something so much better. We want to keep you at a distance rather than longing to see you face to face. [00:38:47]
