Sermon Clips

The world is always perplexed by the true message as she was here she always has been this is a great characteristic the world is one of the best tests of the message if the world accepts the message regularly You Can Be You Can Be readily you can be certain it isn't Christianity if the world is perplexed and amazed astonished you can be fairly certain that it in it is approaching in the direction of that which is true. [00:25:55]

The world always hates the true message and it always tries to put a stop to it it did it here at the beginning the world is always was upset and disturbed by the true message isn't this the whole story of the Bible look at the way the world treated Noah the preacher of righteousness the men appointed by God to preach to that ancient world and to call it to repentance. [00:26:46]

Christianity is in no sense dependent upon us and our power and our capacity what do I mean I mean this it is not a matter of our ability and understanding and knowledge now here you are listen to this now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John and perceive that they were unlearned and ignorant men they mured of course they did you see it was contrary to the whole of their thinking. [00:33:03]

This is not something that we do it is not something that is dependent in any sense upon us there's the first point this is of course the greatest modern fallacy we like to think that we can do anything and everything that we have we have the competence we have the capacity and the power but here at the very beginning you were told at once becoming Christian is in no sense dependent upon us. [00:32:46]

This is the profoundest truth in the world tonight about everything connected with life it is here you find the profoundest truth about men about life about living about death about the cosmos about God it's all here this is the profoundest truth in the world and yet you see this is the remarkable thing it is never arrived at as the result of our intellectual effort and competence and understanding. [00:37:16]

Unlearned and ignorant men can see it and receive it and believe it and practice it and the Great and the mighty failed to do so now that in and of itself proves and establishes this point and this is the thing that perplexes the world when they saw the boldness of Peter and John and perceive that they were unlearned and ignorant men they modeled their whole philosophy is contradicted everything they believed is suddenly falsified Before Their Eyes. [00:37:59]

It is something that is done to us it is something that changes us you see here's the phenomenon unlearned and ignorant men and yet they can speak as they spoke they can heal the lame men they are filled with power what's happened to them and there is Christianity for you in a natural it is a power acting upon us and in us and in spite of us it doesn't depend upon us it depends upon the power. [00:39:38]

This power gives us power to live it gives us power in many other respects it takes a weakling and a failure it puts a backbone into him it puts a moral fiber into him it puts a dynamic into him that makes him a new man and where he formerly Was Defeated he conquers it enables a little man to stand and to resist the devil and cause him to flee the devil who ventured even to tempt the son of God. [00:48:56]

The essence of being a Christian is having been with Jesus and being transformed by His presence. This transformation is not about intellectual or moral achievements but about a relationship with Christ that changes our very nature. When they saw the boldness of Peter and John and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marveled and they took knowledge of them that they had been with Jesus. [00:50:52]

The message of the church to the Nations tonight is not to praise them and not to encourage them in their efforts to make peace and so on it's not a message that gets acclamation and approval from atheistic Communists and others no no it is a message that tells all men and All Nations that they are sinners vile so vile that they can never improve themselves that they must be born again. [00:52:00]

There is only one who can make peace and bring it and give it and guarantee it it is the Prince of Peace the Son of God who has already been in this world once and who will come again into it and anyone who has been with him and who's met him and who knows him anyone upon whom he has placed his mighty recreating hand through the Holy Spirit and who has been made a new by him such a one has already found peace with God peace with his fellow men and women. [00:53:44]

Thank God by the acknowledgement of our sinfulness and our unworthiness and our helplessness we will have opened our hearts to the radiance of the face of God in Jesus Christ and the power of the spirit will have come upon us will have made us a new made us children of God and will be preparing us for the beatific vision and the joys of an eternal Bliss.
