Transformative Journey: Embracing God's Grace and Community
Summary
In today's gathering, we explored the profound concept of transformation and the journey of becoming more than we are through the grace and love of God. We began by acknowledging the skepticism that often surrounds large congregations, yet recognizing the immense value in creating a space where people can come together to worship and grow in their faith. This church is not just a house of God but a home where we are nurtured and discipled, becoming a family in the truest sense.
We delved into the idea of familiarity and how it can lead us to take things for granted. Just as we often assume the water will flow when we turn on the tap, we can become desensitized to the blessings in our lives. It's crucial to cultivate a heart of gratitude, recognizing that everything we have is by the grace of God. This awareness helps us appreciate the richness of our lives and the opportunities we have to connect with God and each other.
The sermon also touched on the sacredness of submission, particularly in relationships like marriage. True submission is not about domination but about stewardship and empowerment. When someone submits to us, it is a precious trust that we must honor by nurturing and empowering them. This principle extends to our relationship with God, where we are called to submit to His will, allowing Him to transform us into His likeness.
We also discussed the importance of being born again, not just in a physical sense but spiritually. This rebirth allows us to become sons and daughters of God, shedding the old ways of living in survival mode and embracing a life of freedom and abundance. It's about moving beyond mere compliance with rules to a genuine transformation of the heart.
Finally, we reflected on the supernatural aspects of our faith, recognizing that while we can do many things in our strength, there are things only God can do. This includes healing and transformation that go beyond the natural, inviting us to live in the fullness of what God has for us.

Day 1: The Power of Spiritual Community
In a world where large gatherings can often feel overwhelming, the value of a spiritual community cannot be overstated. A church is not merely a building but a home where individuals are nurtured and discipled, forming a family that supports each other on their spiritual journeys. This sense of belonging and connection is vital for personal growth and transformation. When people come together in worship, they create a space where faith can flourish, and lives can be changed. Embracing community means recognizing the unique opportunity to grow in faith alongside others, sharing in both joys and struggles. [10:16]
"For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them." (Matthew 18:20, ESV)
Reflection: Who in your church community can you reach out to this week to strengthen your bond and support each other in your spiritual journeys?
Day 2: Cultivating Gratitude in Everyday Life
Familiarity can often lead to complacency, causing us to overlook the blessings in our lives. Just as we expect water to flow when we turn on the tap, we can become desensitized to the grace of God. Cultivating a heart of gratitude is essential for appreciating the richness of our lives and the opportunities we have to connect with God and others. By acknowledging that everything we have is by the grace of God, we open our hearts to a deeper appreciation of His blessings. This awareness transforms our perspective, allowing us to live with a sense of wonder and thankfulness. [14:19]
"Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you." (1 Thessalonians 5:18, ESV)
Reflection: What is one blessing in your life that you have taken for granted? How can you express gratitude for it today?
Day 3: The Sacred Trust of Submission
Submission in relationships, particularly in marriage, is often misunderstood. True submission is not about domination but about stewardship and empowerment. When someone submits to us, it is a precious trust that we must honor by nurturing and empowering them. This principle extends to our relationship with God, where we are called to submit to His will, allowing Him to transform us into His likeness. Submission is a sacred act that requires humility and a willingness to serve others, reflecting the love and grace of God in our interactions. [19:31]
"Submitting to one another out of reverence for Christ." (Ephesians 5:21, ESV)
Reflection: In what ways can you practice true submission in your relationships this week, honoring and empowering those around you?
Day 4: Embracing Spiritual Rebirth
Being born again is not just a physical concept but a profound spiritual transformation. This rebirth allows us to become sons and daughters of God, shedding the old ways of living in survival mode and embracing a life of freedom and abundance. It is about moving beyond mere compliance with rules to a genuine transformation of the heart. Spiritual rebirth invites us to live in the fullness of what God has for us, experiencing His love and grace in new and transformative ways. [36:39]
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come." (2 Corinthians 5:17, ESV)
Reflection: What old habits or mindsets do you need to let go of to fully embrace your new identity in Christ?
Day 5: Living in the Supernatural
While we can accomplish many things in our strength, there are aspects of life that only God can transform. Embracing the supernatural elements of our faith invites us to live in the fullness of what God has for us, including healing and transformation that go beyond the natural. This requires faith and a willingness to trust in God's power and presence in our lives. By opening ourselves to the supernatural, we allow God to work in ways that exceed our understanding, leading to profound change and growth. [52:33]
"Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us." (Ephesians 3:20, ESV)
Reflection: What area of your life do you need to invite God's supernatural power into today, trusting Him to do more than you can imagine?
Quotes
I don't know how many people get permission to just be themselves, show up and just be themselves. But that's what y 'all have provided for me. And this church has, it's a family. And so, let's not call this the house of God. Let's call this the home of God. Because people live in houses, but families live in homes. [00:12:30] (21 seconds)
And she's perfectly at peace right now she's dropping her head she's showing me that she's actually submitting herself to me and it's a really sacred thing when somebody submits himself to you and especially in this thing that we call marriage, it's not very popular language that wives submit yourself to your husbands and I think there's a lot of reason why because men have used that as a reason or an excuse to to mean that that that gives you permission to to dominate somebody her submission to me doesn't give me permission to dominate her her submission to me means that I've got something very very precious that I better better figure out how to steward and how to take care of and how to give her more power and more permission and that she'll find that her with me that she's far more than she could have ever been apart from me and I'm more because of it as well. [00:19:31] (72 seconds)
but he had such a better way he's like if you need to be born again he was telling this man he's like you've done all the things that you know to do and i can see i can see what your heart is and what you really want but you can't do it you're gonna have to be born again and and the guy he was talking to didn't get it he's like how am i going to be born again i'm a man how am i going to go back to being a man i'm not going to be born again i'm not going to go back into my mom's womb and jesus said everybody is born of the flesh that everybody must be born of the spirit and of of water and that there's a different birth that we become sons and daughters of god and he said that he gives us the right to become sons and daughters of god and i want to give her the right to become something that she's never been she's compliant she's figured out some of the rules and right now she's actually she's still got that hanging out of her mouth but [00:25:03] (66 seconds)
And because all of her defense mechanisms, I don't want her to have to live in survival mode anymore. And every one of us, we've built systems to help us make sense of our lives. And there's things we've had to put our guard up. to make ourselves feel safe some of it like physically we've had to do something so that we could be safe but so much of it is mentally and emotionally and so as we're challenging some of our thoughts and some of the reasons that we are the way we are some of you are struggling with fear and insecurity and doubt and anxiety all of these symptoms of of the lack of being fathered and loved in these areas of our life that's what's being made available today because she's not going to spend her life going around just with the same it's not like her past is going to continue to dictate what it is that she's going to do with herself and she's not doing it because some [00:36:39] (74 seconds)
it's an encounter and she can't go back now like she'll never be the same and the parts of herself that she felt like she had to protect those things that are inside of you that you're not sure if you can trust anybody with maybe you can't trust a person with yet but I promise you our papa he is so kind he's so gentle he's not ashamed of you you don't have to use the same strategies to get by there's parts that he wants to heal in us and this affection that she's showing me I just I love it this is this is me as a little boy this is what I loved I had a white horse named sugar [00:40:54] (52 seconds)
And I used to be that guy, but I hated it because I loved animals, and I'm like, there's got to be a better way. And I had a friend, I trained a horse for him, and then the horse broke his daughter's arm. And so that might have been part of him bringing me a videotape on how to train horses. But it was a video. It was a video by a guy named John Lyons, and it was just like a one -hour video. It was on a VHS tape. Kids, you don't ask your mom what that is. And I watched it, and he had a round pen. And it was just very little instruction, but it was like, I got it. It just gives them some choices. You can run if you want. But when you don't want to run anymore, I've got something better for you. And that happened the same time that I got born again. [00:50:47] (62 seconds)
Like, all the stuff that people are like, no, something's not right. You're right. This is not normal. This is not natural. This is supernatural. And I don't know if there's people in here like me that say, like, I'm tired of just doing the natural things. Doing what man can do. I want to do the things that Jesus said I can do. And there's actually healing in the room. There's healing. There's supernatural things that make it to where there's stuff that I can do, but then there's stuff that I can't do. [00:52:46] (35 seconds)
And so, you might see yourself as a believer. You might see yourself as a Christian. Maybe not. Maybe this is all brand new to you. But we started this thing by holding hands as a family. And we're making some decisions individually. But... There's enough power over this room right now that something... Well, a lot of things are going to change right now. And so, if you don't know that you're... Well, if you haven't experienced being fathered by God, being mothered by God, this tenderness and this instruction and this empowerment, if that's new to you and you want more of that, [01:01:03] (45 seconds)
paradox almost where jesus says we've been filled with the fullness of god how do we remain hungry it's so cool like i've got the fullness of god dwelling inside of me yet i'm still hungry that can only happen in the kingdom [01:02:19] (14 seconds)
