God is worthy to be praised. He's worthy because of who he is and what he's done, but not only that, what he is doing today. And I'm grateful that God is a generous God who gives to us more than we can ask or imagine. And I thank you for following in the footsteps of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, by showing your generosity through your service, through your giving of your time, and your resources. Thank you, because when you give, your gifts go to make a direct impact. And one of the ways that we make a direct impact is by partnering with local organizations to help make an impact in the life of young people in our county. [00:24:30] (57 seconds) Edit Clip

Here's the formula that we're gonna talk about for the next four weeks it goes like this I used to be X and you fill in the blank now I'm why you fill in the blank because and then you talk about what the change was that is the simple formula of sharing your story and friends I believe that God calls each and every one of us to share our story of how God has impacted our lives because through that impact we can impact lives of others and so today we will be begin talking about sharing your story and we're looking at a man named Saul Saul whose life was changed and he became Paul but before we get into Saul turning into Paul I want to share a story with you about a man named Willie [00:33:13] (71 seconds) Edit Clip

But he was struck by this commitment. So much so that he began to slowly change. Because he realized that if he is going to be right, then he must live a righteous life. And righteousness, according to what he was learning, was about being right with God and right with his family. [00:40:00] (36 seconds) Edit Clip

And on his way, the story goes, he had a turning point. The Bible says that lightning flashed and it knocked him down off of his horse. And he heard a voice and this voice was Jesus. Now, the people that was with him didn't see anything, but they heard something. And so Paul was blinded and he was changed at that moment. Paul's story was about to be rewritten. Sometimes God will come to you. And sometimes God needs to knock you off of your horse. Sometimes God needs to stop you in your tracks. There are other times where God shows up and he asks you to do something that goes against all logic. For Saul, God spoke and showed up and knocked him off his horse. For a man named Ananias, God shows up and says, I need you to go talk to the very person who's on his way that they thought to destroy you. [00:43:44] (48 seconds) Edit Clip

You used to be a certain way, very confident in your abilities, but all of a sudden something happens. Maybe it's your health. Maybe it's a spouse or a sibling or a child and all of a sudden you thought all of these things were going right and just like that, you've changed. Things are not the same. Ever been there? And just because I know it doesn't mean it's best. There are others who have walked this way and walked this path and done it in a way that's more faithful than I have. And so I'm learning to listen to those individuals, but I can't listen to them unless they share their story. You see, we are called to share our story, our life -changing stories with others. Because if you don't share your story, how is the person that's next to you or behind you or your family member or the person that works with you, how are they going to know how God can work in their lives? They won't know unless you share it. And here is Paul's story. My name used to be Paul, Saul. And I followed Moses' law. And I thought it was right. Today, my name is Paul. And I'm a missionary for God because of what happened to me on Damascus Road. [00:46:31] (52 seconds) Edit Clip

I used to be, you fill in the blank. Friends, you ain't always been what you are today. Don't fool yourselves. I hadn't always been a preacher, friends. My family member reminds me of that every now and again. Because they reminded me this weekend, they said, Q, we remember when. And I'm thinking, I have no idea where this story is going to go, but I'm listening. [00:47:30] (32 seconds) Edit Clip
