#UnforgivableSin
“That person is ignoring the Spirit's efforts to convince them to turn to Jesus. Remember, it's the Holy Spirit's role in our lives to convict us of our sin and turn us to God. And when we reject that, when our heart is hardened, our attitude is hardened toward God, we are closing out the workings of God in our life thus, well, there's no forgiveness because well, there's no repentance. So simply put, the unforgivable sin is denying the deity of Christ. And that is what the religious leaders were doing.”

#GlobalChurchFamily
“Jesus' main purpose in this whole scene is not to reject his earthly family at all. It is to instead share with us the incredible nature of this new family that Jesus is forming, that he's establishing. It's a family not based on blood, not based on ethnicity, not based on national identity, but one united around one common allegiance to the kingdom of God and his purpose in this world. Today, we call this family the church and it is worldwide. It is universal. Every nation on earth is represented. We are all unified by the blood of Jesus.”

#JoinGodsFamily
“And since the very beginning, it has been possible for us to choose to be a part of this family while the world, even our own biological families could potentially reject us because of Christ. The family of God rises above that rejection. The family of God is to love each other in such powerful ways that the world around it sees it and says, hey, there's only one thing that could unite people like that and that has to be Jesus I think I want to be a part of that. I don't think it's possible for me to express fully enough how desperately we want all of you to be a part of our family here at Berea”

#FollowersAreFamily
“To some, it might look like, well, why didn't Jesus just call for his mom and brothers to come on in? Just, hey, let them through. Just just just bring them right on here to invite his family to join them so they could be part of learning, be part of this process, a part of his inner circle. But that's not what happened. Instead, Jesus pronounces that those there listening, those there circled around him, they come on purpose to hear Jesus. They're coming to believe in him and his mission to usher in the kingdom of God. He says that these are my family”

#PerfectGodImperfectPeople
“Imperfect as we are, we serve a perfect God. A perfect God that can overcome any hurt, any pain, any issue that might exist within the family of God. Your perfection can override that as long as we all focus on you and who you are and what you've done and what you're doing. And Father, that hope and what you will do one day as we all gather with you for all eternity. a gift the family of God is. We pray that all listening have a desire and that your spirit finds just the right place for them to be a part of that family of God, not just be a part. Father, this isn't a family that you just exist in. No, this is the family that you're fully invested in.”

#TruthVsRumors
“As I said a moment ago, from the beginning of his ministry, Jesus been demonstrating this authority. His authority to cast out demons and it could not be explained by the religious leaders because they refused to admit the potential truth that it just might be the power of God at work in him. So they planted another idea in the minds of the people. It is no different than things today. So often the first thing that gets reported or the loudest thing that gets reported gets repeated and it becomes the narrative that surrounds whatever the event or circumstance in life is as if it is the truth even when it's not.”

#FamilyProtectsJesus
“They think he's gone mental. They think he's crazy. The things he's teaching, the miracles, how is he even doing this? The interaction he's had with these people in authority, he's just not in his right mind. There's no way he would be doing these things if he was. His family's heard about all of that. But probably what really got them was they've begun to hear the rumors, the threats that are coming Jesus' way. And Mary, his mother, think about it moms, people are threatening your son's life.”

#RejectingTheSpirit
“Those who were addressing Jesus were there on purpose and for a purpose on that day. They had developed a hatred for Jesus, and that hatred was transforming them into having a vengeful heart and mind. They had a purpose. They were plotting to kill Jesus already by this point in his ministry. It is not that God cannot forgive someone of something. That's not it at all. He absolutely could if they repent, we ask for forgiveness. But when we choose to blaspheme or speak evil of the Holy Spirit, here's what we're doing. As an individual then, we are rejecting the attempts of the Holy Spirit to convict us of our sin.”
