#DoctrineToDiscipleship
“``Because sound doctrine isn't merely something we believe. Sound doctrine produces a certain kind of life. God's truth is meant to lead to godliness. And when that happens across an entire congregation, something beautiful emerges. Older Christians helping younger Christians. Men and women growing in self control. Homes are strengthened. Leaders modeling what they teach. Christians displaying Christ in everyday no matter the circumstances of that work. is God's picture of a healthy church. And so we have a choice. Will we be the a church that that merely affirms sound doctrine? Or we or or or a church whose life accords with sound doctrine? Maybe better, will you let god's truth lead you to godliness as we follow Christ Jesus together?”

#WhereTruthChangesYou
“So the question this morning isn't just do I know sound doctrine? Ask yourself, where should god's truth be changing me? And you might just wanna start with where am I indulgent rather than disciplined? And it could be all kinds of different things. Where should god's truth be changing me? My words, my reactions, my thoughts, my habits, my relationships. Where am I resisting becoming more like Jesus? Because God's truth was never meant to just merely fill your mind. God's truth produces godliness in every aspect of our lives.”

#ReorderYourLoves
“Money promises security. Our phones promises escape. Gossip promises significance. And the whole time our hearts are saying, if I can just have this, I'll be satisfied. And that's why Christian self control is more than willpower. We're not trying to be stoets here. We're following Christ. And and so self control grows as our loves are reordered, as we increasingly believe that Christ is better than what our uncontrolled desires promise us.”

#RightOrderingOfLoves
“And why is self control so difficult? Because self control is ultimately a matter of what you love. Augustin, he he described the Christian life as the right ordering of our loves. Our problem isn't that we love things like pleasure, comfort, approval, security. It's that we love these good things in the wrong order. We ask them to give us what only God can give.”
