#EveAndTheFall
“But when we find her in Genesis chapter three believing in the light of the serpent and rebelling against God's only command, the one named for being a life giver then becomes a life taker. Sin enters into her reality and death through sin. And from the curse of Genesis three forward, Eve and all of her daughters that would follow would have a reality in their lives marked by pain, unfulfilled desire, and domineering leadership. No wonder women are warned in our text against turning to alcohol as we're soon to see or embracing some sort of brand of flesh satisfying teaching or even falling into the trap of devaluing their husband or their children at home.”

“So do you see ladies how much you need a spiritual mother? Do you see how there's gonna be times that you look at this text and you're like, pastor, but don't you know what I have to face this week, the challenges, and you get to pick up the phone or sit down for a cup of coffee and walk through the things that your spiritual mother has already walked through or knows how to pray you through and what a gift that is in your life. That's the way God has orchestrated the church to operate. For spiritual mothers to pour into their spiritual daughters in this way so they can walk with Jesus faithfully. And it's just beautiful.”

“At the heart of any discussion of spiritual mothering, the relationship of an older woman and a younger woman coming together to help each other in such a beautiful picture, what it means to be the church, at the heart of all of that is Christ. Just think about the story of Mary and Elizabeth. When Mary entered into Elizabeth's presence, the bible said that John the Baptist who was in Elizabeth's womb just jumped and leaped for joy because they were in the presence of the incarnated son of God. Everything that had drawn Mary to that place was driven by what Christ was doing literally in her and through her.”

#WisdomOverWounds
“The beauty of spiritual mothers in our church is that they get to step into the lives of these young ladies, some of which haven't married yet, others already have. Some are still looking for their spouses. Some might be engaged. Some may have just had children just like Lauren and Darcy. Others may be raising teenagers wherever they are in life. But when they get to step into their life and become a part of what it is, these ladies who are spiritual moms, they just don't minister out of the wealth of their victories. They also do so out of their times of disappointment and heartbreak. They're able to share things. Of times, they went down paths that hopefully in sharing it, someone who's after them won't have to go down and make the same mistake.”
