From the very beginning, God demonstrated the immeasurable power of His voice. With a single command, “Let there be light,” the universe was set into motion, and every day that followed was shaped by the sound of His words. The same voice that spoke galaxies into existence continues to echo throughout creation, reminding us that God’s word is not just history—it is living, active, and able to bring about transformation in our lives today. When we recognize the authority and creativity in God’s voice, we are invited to align our own words with His, speaking life, hope, and faith into every situation we face. [38:19]
Genesis 1:1-3 (ESV)
In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.
Reflection: What is one area of your life where you need to intentionally speak God’s truth and promises, rather than words of defeat or negativity?
Paul and Silas, beaten and imprisoned for doing God’s work, chose not to complain or despair in their darkest hour. Instead, they filled their prison cell with the sound of prayer and worship, singing hymns to God despite their pain and chains. Their sacrifice of praise became the catalyst for a miracle: an earthquake shook the prison, doors flew open, and every prisoner’s chains fell off. This powerful moment reveals that praise is not just a response to victory—it is a weapon that brings breakthrough, freedom, and the presence of God into even the bleakest circumstances. [01:07:51]
Acts 16:25-26 (ESV)
About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them, and suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken. And immediately all the doors were opened, and everyone’s bonds were unfastened.
Reflection: When you face discouragement or hardship, what would it look like for you to choose praise and worship instead of complaint or silence?
The words we speak and the actions we take carry spiritual weight. Silence can be the language of defeat, but shouting, clapping, singing, and declaring God’s truth are languages of victory, authority, and worship. When we fill the atmosphere with the sound of faith—through praise, prayer, and proclamation—we invite the Holy Spirit to move powerfully in our lives and the lives of those around us. Our willingness to “make a sound” in faith can break strongholds, bring healing, and set others free, as heaven responds to the language of God’s kingdom spoken through us. [01:09:11]
Psalm 33:6,9 (ESV)
By the word of the Lord the heavens were made, and by the breath of his mouth all their host. For he spoke, and it came to be; he commanded, and it stood firm.
Reflection: What “sound” do you need to raise today—whether it’s a shout of victory, a song of worship, or a declaration of God’s promises—to shift the atmosphere in your home or workplace?
It is not enough to merely acknowledge God with our words while our actions remain unchanged. The story of the slave girl in Acts 16 and the teaching from James 3 remind us that blessing and cursing should not come from the same mouth. True faith is demonstrated when our confession of Jesus as Lord is matched by a transformed life—one that resists the patterns of the world and seeks to honor God in speech and conduct. Authentic faith refuses to mock God with empty words but instead pursues genuine relationship and obedience, even when it means standing against cultural norms or personal comfort. [57:41]
James 3:10-12 (ESV)
From the same mouth come blessing and cursing. My brothers, these things ought not to be so. Does a spring pour forth from the same opening both fresh and salt water? Can a fig tree, my brothers, bear olives, or a grapevine produce figs? Neither can a salt pond yield fresh water.
Reflection: Is there an area where your words and actions are out of alignment? What is one step you can take today to bring your speech and your life into agreement with your faith in Christ?
The first and most important sound that brings revival is the sound of repentance—a humble confession of our need for a Savior and a turning away from sin. When we call on the name of the Lord, believing in our hearts and confessing with our mouths, we are made new and set on a path of transformation. This sound not only changes our eternity but also sets the stage for God to restore, heal, and use us to bring change to our families, communities, and beyond. Revival begins with one voice—yours—crying out to God in surrender and faith. [01:16:03]
Romans 10:9-10 (ESV)
Because if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.
Reflection: Have you made the sound of repentance in your own life? If so, who in your circle needs to hear your story of new beginnings, and how can you share it with them this week?
The power of sound is woven throughout the story of God’s people, from the very beginning of creation to the early church’s bold witness. God spoke the universe into existence, and His voice still echoes through the cosmos, shaping reality and calling forth life. The language we use—our words, our praise, our shouts, our silence—carries spiritual weight. Silence, when it comes from fear or resignation, is the language of defeat. But when we lift our voices in praise, shout in victory, clap in authority, or sing in worship, we align ourselves with the language of heaven and invite God’s presence and power into our circumstances.
Paul and Silas, on their mission in the Roman Empire, encountered opposition not because they did wrong, but because they stood for truth. Even when falsely accused, beaten, and thrown into prison, they refused to let their circumstances dictate their response. Instead of complaining or giving in to despair, they filled the darkness of their dungeon with the sound of prayer and worship. Their praise, offered in pain and uncertainty, became the catalyst for a miracle. God shook the prison, broke their chains, and opened every door—not just for them, but for everyone around them.
This story reveals that the sound we release in our darkest moments can change not only our situation but also the lives of those near us. Praise and faith-filled language create an atmosphere where God moves powerfully. When we choose to speak the language of heaven—whether through repentance, worship, authority, or joy—we become agents of transformation. The very people and systems that once opposed us can become instruments of God’s justice, healing, and restoration.
God calls us to fill our homes, our communities, and our lives with the sound of His kingdom. Whether it’s through running for school board, praying for our city, or simply refusing to let defeat have the last word, we are invited to participate in reformation and revival. The first sound that brings true change is repentance—the language of revival. When we confess Jesus as Lord and align our words and actions with His truth, we open the door for God to do what only He can do: save, heal, restore, and set free.
Acts 16:16-34 (ESV) — 16 As we were going to the place of prayer, we were met by a slave girl who had a spirit of divination and brought her owners much gain by fortune-telling.
17 She followed Paul and us, crying out, “These men are servants of the Most High God, who proclaim to you the way of salvation.”
18 And this she kept doing for many days. Paul, having become greatly annoyed, turned and said to the spirit, “I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her.” And it came out that very hour.
19 But when her owners saw that their hope of gain was gone, they seized Paul and Silas and dragged them into the marketplace before the rulers.
20 And when they had brought them to the magistrates, they said, “These men are Jews, and they are disturbing our city.
21 They advocate customs that are not lawful for us as Romans to accept or practice.”
22 The crowd joined in attacking them, and the magistrates tore the garments off them and gave orders to beat them with rods.
23 And when they had inflicted many blows upon them, they threw them into prison, ordering the jailer to keep them safely.
24 Having received this order, he put them into the inner prison and fastened their feet in the stocks.
25 About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them,
26 and suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken. And immediately all the doors were opened, and everyone's bonds were unfastened.
27 When the jailer woke and saw that the prison doors were open, he drew his sword and was about to kill himself, supposing that the prisoners had escaped.
28 But Paul cried with a loud voice, “Do not harm yourself, for we are all here.”
29 And the jailer called for lights and rushed in, and trembling with fear he fell down before Paul and Silas.
30 Then he brought them out and said, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?”
31 And they said, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household.”
32 And they spoke the word of the Lord to him and to all who were in his house.
33 And he took them the same hour of the night and washed their wounds; and he was baptized at once, he and all his family.
34 Then he brought them up into his house and set food before them. And he rejoiced along with his entire household that he had believed in God.
Have you ever considered the power of a sound? Silence is golden, isn't it? There's power in a sound. You know, the sound of a fire alarm can empty or clear a building in an emergency, can't it? You hear a fire alarm and what do you instantly do? You start looking for an exit. There's a power in that sound. The sound of a bugling elk can be heard from over two miles away as he seeks his mate and calls her in. The sound of an enthusiastic crowd at a Broncos game can create chaos and insurmountable noise that prevents an opponent from hearing each other. From Jesus to Martin Luther King Jr, one voice with the right tone, the right message, the right call to action can mobilize a generation of people towards a cause. [00:39:14]
Look at what God did simply by opening his mouth and allowing the sound of his voice to echo throughout the universe. You know that they say that the universe continues to expand at the speed of light and all it is is God's voice echoing throughout the cosmos going let there be let there be let there be let there be that's power. [00:41:22]
If you realize what they are and what's available to you there is nothing nothing nothing that you cannot have in the Word of God if you simply know how to speak the right language at the right time. [00:42:50]
Silence is the language of defeat. If you're experiencing defeat in your life check your words. I would guarantee you in moments when you need to speak the loudest you've been silent and when you've spoken the loudest you needed to be quiet. [00:43:11]
Shouting is the language of victory. Pastor you know you're always making me shout you're always wanting me to shout you know I can love Jesus and have faith in Jesus and keep my dignity well you can try but when you're really redeemed when you really realize what he's made available to you when you really realize who he is produces a shout that produces victory in your life. [00:43:48]
The principles of God are not based on shouting after you've won but you literally create your victory by shouting before you've ever gone into battle. See when you can catch that it'll make you shout when everybody else is quiet. [00:44:16]
Clapping is the language of authority. Well pastor what do you mean you just walk around clapping? Actually yeah I do. It's kind of crazy. I have a four -year -old that's going on 44 and her vocabulary is better than mine and so I made the mistake one day of of saying something to her as I was correcting her I said that's ignorant and she said daddy what does ignorant mean and I told her what it meant. Uh oh I got corrected the other day by my 44 year old daughter where she precisely told me exquisitely I might add with great articulation daddy that's just ignorant and she was right. [00:45:16]
If you're struggling with your kids if you're struggling to have your place of authority in your home you need to start clapping you need to start walking through your home and going God I declare see you you use this but you do this I used to have a football coach he'd he'd walk in if he really wanted to make a point to you after you really messed up on a play he'd walk over and he'd go listen to me son and he'd look in your eye and he'd go are we understanding each other you better believe we were. [00:47:45]
Walking is the language of possession. If you want to figure out what that looks like just go back and read the story of of Joshua walking around the walls of Jericho you'll understand exactly what I'm talking about. [00:48:29]
Dancing is the language of joy. Spinning is the language of warfare. Running is the language of freedom. Tongues is the language of the Holy Spirit. Repentance is the language of revival. Singing is the language of worship. Raised hands are the language of surrender. Kneeling is the language of reverence and bowing is the language of honor. [00:48:48]
There have been times where I've gone into my room after hearing that and done the exact same thing. And I could tell you this, I felt really silly in a room all by myself, jumping up and down, shouting, twirling, clapping, but all of a sudden joy showed up. And when joy showed up, I had strength. And strength showed up and now I had a peace of mind and where peace came in. See, I started to take authority and I started to speak and I started to use the word of God and I started to shout and to declare God's goodness into my situation. [00:49:41]
If you want the manifestation of God's word in your life, you had better start speaking the right language. Start with the right sound. [00:51:02]
There are religious spirits that will acknowledge God for who he is that will acknowledge the things of God but they will keep you trapped in a place without transformation without freedom without the power of true relationship with that Savior. [00:55:08]
It's become the social norm in America now to profess Jesus as Lord with our mouths but profess allegiance to the kingdom of darkness with the works of wickedness that are happening in our daily lives. [00:55:52]
You can't profess Jesus with your mouth and continue to take part in the ways of the world and wonder why there's no breakthrough in your life see it's mockery it's it's it's not talking about I'm not listen you got to hear my heart here I'm not talking about people who are wrestling with things and every day walking out their salvation with fear and trembling people that are trying to get over bad habits and things that they've come out of I'm not talking about that I'm talking about someone who is openly and mindfully still doing what they did BC before Christ came into your life and continue to walk in the same sin the same way of thinking the same way of speech and then we come out and we go this God thing's not really real I'm not seeing any of that in my life. [00:57:23]
You got to get a table flipping unctioned in your spirit not a short fused mean spirit that hauls off on every little thing but a discerning Christ like authority that says enough stop this cease and desist I've had it. [01:00:00]
Not everyone is going to agree with you when you operate in the truth you the devil hates the truth some may even get angry when confronted by the truth even when it's done in love the gospel is inherently offensive to the lost multiple times we see in scripture it says the gospel of Jesus is foolishness to them that are perishing but to those who are being saved it's the power of God. [01:01:53]
You're going to have many opportunities in life to be discouraged. Don't take any. You're going to have plenty of opportunities to be sick or depressed or broke or offended. You name it. Don't take any. It's up to you whether or not you take the opportunity or you turn your attention to the true opportunity made available when you invite the Holy Spirit into your situation. [01:07:07]
These guys are bound physically, but they can't bind their spirit. I mean, I may be afflicted. I may be bound for the moment. But the only one who can bind my heart, the only one who can bind my praise, the only one who can bind my worship, the only one that can bind my faith is me. Nobody else. You can say what you want, do what you want, cause what you want. But ultimately, whether or not I continue to walk in faith is completely up to me and me alone. [01:08:35]
There is a sound that causes earthquakes. There is a sound that causes everything attempting to bind you to fall off. There is a sound your praise makes that shakes the very foundation of every institution, every stronghold, every wickedness, every demonic oppression, and every evil that could possibly come against you. [01:10:52]
Your praise shakes open doors that were locked to you previously. You have to understand that. Your praise shakes loose everything being held back from you right now. [01:11:20]
When you start to fill the atmosphere with a sound, everyone close to you is going to experience freedom. I dare you to start speaking the language of heaven. I dare you to start making a sound that the host of heaven are waiting with bated breath to hear. [01:12:04]
What could happen if you started walking your neighborhood or the main street in your town, praying in the Holy Ghost, repenting on behalf of your city officials and the people there? Let me tell you what could happen. Walking is the language of possession. Repentance is the language of revival. Revival. We could take the land. Revival. We could see revival. We can tear down the gates of hell and break the chains of what binds our nation and our city and the people around us. [01:13:03]
When you start filling the atmosphere with the right sound, God will use the very people responsible for your pain to bring healing into your life. God will restore relationships. He'll restore marriages. He'll heal the wounds of your past. And he'll sustain you in every possible way. [01:15:29]
God will turn your pain your injustice your obstacles into the platform to bring justice to show mercy and to make the name of jesus known reformation doesn't just bring justice it encourages every believer to continue to be the change in the system entirely. [01:17:32]
If you would fill the atmosphere of your life with the sound of the kingdom god will use you beyond what you ever imagined pastor i'm not qualified to do any of those things neither were any of these guys they were fishermen they were a bunch of of ragtag outcasts from different parts of society but first before anything else we've got to refuse the opportunities the opposition of the enemy has set before us and take the opportunity to raise a sound that sets the kingdom in motion in our lives. [01:18:32]
If you really want victory this is the moment when you shout this is the moment when you allow your voice to partner with what it is that God says until something changes until something shifts until something happens in your life you push until something happens and see this right here in this moment you've got to understand you don't have to leave this room the same way you walked in you don't.
