Devotional

Sermon Summary

Sermon Clips

1. "We don't come down for prayer because we're defeated. No, no, no. We receive prayer because we've already received the victory. It was won on Calvary's cross a long time ago. And because of that, anything that the world throws at us, anything that the devil throws at us, anything that the flesh throws at us, it is all subject to the power of Almighty God, Jesus Christ, through His victory He won at Calvary. That's good news for us today." [29:18] (27 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)

2. "How often do we waste time trying to do things on our own when things go wrong? How often is our first response, our first reaction to do the things that we know that we can do to exhaust our skill set, to exhaust our resources, to exhaust what we think we can do with our mental faculties, to make something better? Instead, all the while, Jesus is just saying, bring it to me. And if we turn to him first, the first step that we're going to take is in the direction he wants us to go." 3. "There are moments where we hit low places in life, and God's going to use those low places. There are moments where we are full of faith in God, believing with a whole heart, and we find ourselves in the valley. And God is not wasting that pain. God is not wasting that valley experience. God is not wasting those trials. He is using them and refining you and preparing you for what is coming ahead. I'll say it this way. Oftentimes we got to find ourselves going down in the valley before we come up to the mountain." [58:15] (27 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)

4. "Until we admit that we can't, we never can. Until we show our surrender to God and our belief in his ability and our lack of ability, oftentimes we will never see him move in power. The disciples, they thought they could do it on their own and they got humbled. Also, by the way, when we pray and we ask God to move and intervene, and he does, he gets all the glory. He gets all the honor. He gets all the praise. And I need to remind us of this today. God will never share his glory with anyone." [01:07:11] (41 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)
