The Transformative Power of Our Words
Summary
In our exploration of Proverbs 18:20-21, we delve into the profound truth that the words we speak have the power to shape our reality. The scripture reminds us that "from the fruit of the mouth one's stomach is satisfied; the yield of the lips brings satisfaction. Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits." This passage underscores the importance of being mindful of our words, as they have the potential to create life or bring about destruction. Our words are not just idle expressions; they are seeds that bear fruit in our lives and the lives of those around us.
We are encouraged to use our words to establish and strengthen our relationship with God. By confessing our faith and declaring God's promises, we align ourselves with His will and invite His presence into our lives. This act of speaking God's truth over our circumstances is not just a ritual but a powerful declaration that can transform our reality. Just as God spoke the world into existence, we too have the ability to speak life into our situations.
Moreover, our words have a communal impact. What we declare affects not only our personal lives but also the lives of those in our community, our families, and even our workplaces. We are reminded that our words can either build up or tear down, and thus, we must choose to speak life and blessings.
In moments of doubt or when we struggle to find the right words, we are encouraged to turn to the scriptures. The Bible is filled with God's promises and declarations that we can speak over our lives. By doing so, we align our thoughts and words with God's truth, allowing His power to manifest in our lives.
Ultimately, the message is clear: we must be intentional with our words, understanding their power to shape our destiny and the world around us. Let us choose to speak life, declare God's promises, and watch as His blessings unfold in our lives.

Quotes
And so this is not just something that grandma taught us, that mom taught us, that we learned in Sunday school, but this is the word of God. And so on tonight in Proverbs chapter 18, um, there is so much going on, um, in verses one through 19, and then a little bit of a kind of like twist kind of happens here and where Proverbs 18 and verse 20, and then begins to. [00:05:48] (28 seconds)
right and so not only does it allow us to kind of confess what it is we are believing god for right but it also connects us in a in a new level of relationship with god because now we have made the confession we've made the declaration out of our mouths that i know you as lord i receive you as my god i receive you as my lord i believe that you died for me i mean all all of these confessions now establish the relationship that we now have with christ or at least um the either initial kind of relationship with christ or the daily renewing of our relationship with christ just simply from out of our mouths right and so when i even when we hear um you know text of scripture talking about the angels and what they're doing in heaven they're not clapping and dancing in all of those kind of moments alone but they are crying out holy they are they are using their mouths they're using the fruit of their mouth um and because of that from a natural perspective now um our stomach is satisfied is what the is what proverbs says well so if we look at that from the perspective that what we confess out of our mouth concerning god our father um what we confess out of our mouth with him then establishes relationship with him um now allows our confession to become fruitful in such a way that now i can name myself as a joint heir with christ because what god said in his word and now because of what i have said out about out of my mouth now the two collide and now we are one i am his and he is mine [00:07:34] (111 seconds)
he is mine and i am his and so it may take time to develop that relationship it may take time to like get to a place where you know you you feel like you've matured a little bit in that relationship with christ but it establishes it it establishes it um i think about um you know just kind of growing up when i was little you know a little boy would say hey you want to be my girlfriend and it was either my yes or no that established that relationship [00:09:54] (30 seconds)
what i say is what i'm going to be satisfied with and so think about this right and i i heard this earlier this week i want to say it was earlier this week i think it was um or maybe even last week someone said i want the lord the word of the lord says that i will satisfy you with long life and and i heard someone say lord i want to live until i'm satisfied and that blessed me tremendously that blessed me tremendously when we think about what we say out of our mouth when we think about what we say out of our mouth and the implications that it has on every single area of our life we will be more mindful of what we say because now what i say out of my mouth and we haven't gotten to 21 yet but what i say out of my mouth even here in the a clause of verse number 20 it establishes things and it causes what i say and what i establish to now be the thing that now i have to [00:12:27] (65 seconds)
he now began from the very beginning he said it and it was so he said it and it was so he said it and it was so and we have to understand that not only what we say out of our mouths is established just for us to see and just for us to feel but think about the fact that what what i do say is established here on earth as well as in heaven then then what i say here about me and and my bloodline etc now it now it affects family members across in other nations family members in different states family members and other i mean and not just not just people who are family connected to you by blood yeah but those that walk with you in ministry yeah those that walk with you on your jobs those that are in the same department with you if you are in accounts receivable and all you talk about is how terrible accounts receivable is it doesn't matter how many people in that department how long their tenure has been how much work they do how much knowledge they have you will see the fruit of your lips and we've got to understand that it's not just for me [00:16:45] (74 seconds)
and so i can say whatever because i don't care what happens to me but what i speak out of my mouth it affects others yeah it's so much greater than just oh little old me and just me and what i got and just me and what i'm thinking yeah yeah me and what i say yeah my me this fruit this harvest yeah it doesn't just affect us and the things what we lose on earth is where loose in heaven and what we bind on earth is also bound in heaven so think about the things that you've been binding up because you have spoken and now the fruit out of your mouth says oh it'll never be it's it's i've been waiting so long this cannot happen maybe god has changed his mind about what he taught what he showed me in a dream what he promised me in the vision what what what i heard with my ears [00:18:58] (50 seconds)
But it's not a lie for us to declare what God has said to us. It's not a lie when we say, well, God said that I'm already healed by and with his stripes, I am already healed. And so it doesn't matter what's happening in my body. It doesn't matter what I feel. It doesn't matter. It doesn't matter how long it hurts right now. [00:19:36] (25 seconds)
that's it that's it that's it all you got to do is speak it and and here here is the thing because i could hear some folks saying but what if you don't have anything good to say but what if it's hard for you to see it well well here's some good news we've got 66 books full of what god has said [00:27:32] (22 seconds)
And then I spoke to you in Proverbs. And I said to you, the power of life and death is in your tongue. It's in you. It's in you. Life is in what you say. Death is in what you say. And we must, we must understand that, that this means that now my mind has got to be so bound to the mind of Christ that even in the moments when things look bad, I mean, they don't look good. They don't look good. They don't look good. [00:43:29] (27 seconds)
and become brand new. We speak life on tonight. That God, as minds, oh God, are being renewed and minds are being restored. We speak life on tonight as families, oh God, begin to come back together, oh God, and join and become the force that you created them to be. We speak now, oh God, over cities. We speak over states. We speak over, oh God, nations. We speak over this nation now. And God, we speak life, oh God. We speak life, oh God, to every single thing that's trying to come against, God, what you have established in the earth, what you have established in your word. We [00:53:21] (39 seconds)
