"Most assuredly I say to you, he who hears my word and believes in Him who sent me has everlasting life and shall not come into judgment but is passed from death unto life. Well, that's a remarkable statement, don't you think? Jesus said that if you hear his word and believe in Him who sent me, you're going to have everlasting life." [00:15:25]

"God's word implants or imparts life to us. It is a continual source of life. Now we see this in a few different passages. For example, Psalm 119 verse 93 says this: I will never forget your precepts, for by them you have given me life. Now one of the things to understand about Psalm 119 is that this great chapter of the Bible, this longest chapter of the Bible, uses many different terms for the word of God." [00:17:13]

"God by His Holy Spirit works in and through His word, imparting life to us as we give our attention to His word, as we read it, as we study it, as we hear it, as we meditate upon it. God is imparting life spiritually to those who will do this." [00:19:20]

"If we take heed according to God's word, our way will be cleansed. There is something in the way God's word works that brings cleansing and purity to our soul, to our spirit, to our inner man, to us as individuals. Here's several verses that teach us this truth: Psalm 119 verse 9 says, How can a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed according to your word." [00:19:36]

"The word of God has inherent power and authority against demonic powers. Think about that. There is power in the word of God to defeat the powers of darkness, demonic powers. Luke chapter 4 verse 36 says this: Then they were all amazed and spoke among themselves, saying, What a word is this! For with authority and power He commands the unclean spirits, and they come out." [00:21:38]

"God's word is the Christian's path for sanctification. You could call that holiness and for spiritual growth. Now again, please understand this: God has a path, a way of working for the holiness, the sanctification, for the spiritual growth of the believer. And Jesus said this very plainly in John chapter 17 verse 17: He said, Sanctify them by your truth; your word is truth." [00:24:00]

"God's word brings us true fruitfulness, prosperity, and success to the things that we do. Let me show you a verse here in Psalm 1. Now I do want to make sure that when we talk about God's word bringing fruitfulness, prosperity, and success, we're not talking about the prosperity gospel. We're not talking about this transactional relationship with God." [00:26:24]

"We can also say that the word of God has healing power, that it has the power to deliver people from oppression. Let me just show you a couple of verses here: Psalm 107 verse 20 says this: He sent His word and healed them and delivered them from their destructions. And then here in Matthew chapter 8 verse 16, it says, When evening had come, they brought to Him many who were demon-possessed, and He cast out the spirits with a word and healed all who were sick." [00:28:23]

"Your word I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against you. Well, listen, if you want to live in a way that's being kept from sin, one way to have that, to live that, to experience that is to hide God's word in your life. There's a connection between the two." [00:29:21]

"God's word is a source of strength. We find this in Psalm 119 verse 28, which says this: My soul melts from heaviness; strengthen me according to your word. Again, that's Psalm 119 verse 28. Friends, there is strength for our soul in God's word." [00:30:02]

"Trust that there is a spiritual power in God's word that goes beyond our intellectual ability to understand every detail. Don't think that you need to understand everything in the Bible to benefit from God's word and from its power. I've got a pastor friend who gives this advice to people: when you find something in the Bible that you don't understand, just keep reading." [00:55:16]

"When you hear preaching and teaching, trust God to work in your life through the spiritual power of His word. I don't know, maybe you want to include all those promises, all those principles that I say, those 24 principles, and talk about them just in this respect: that, Lord, I believe that when I'm under the faithful preaching of the word, you're going to do this work in me." [00:56:14]
