Sermon Summary

Sermon Clips

Angels, while they're spiritual beings, are nevertheless created beings. They have not existed from eternity as God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit have existed. Indeed, Paul in the first chapter of the Epistle to the Colossians in the 16th verse very definitely teaches that they were created by the Son. [00:05:25]

The angels can appear in the form of human beings. You remember, for instance, we are told about the three men who appeared before Abraham in the nineteenth chapter of Genesis. And there are other examples of the same thing. And yet you remember in the case of Samson's father and mother, there was obviously something unusual about the appearance. [00:09:00]

The angels are always referred to as if they were masculine. The angel is always referred to as he. The result of this is that we cannot speak automatically with regard to this question of sex in the Angels, but we are certain that they do not marry nor are given in marriage. [00:09:00]

The angels are deeply interested in the mystery of human salvation, a concept that even they desire to understand. This highlights the profound nature of God's grace and the unique role of humanity in His redemptive plan. They spend a good deal of their time looking into this question of your salvation and mine. [00:28:29]

The angels are used by God with respect to us and our salvation from the very beginning right unto the end. They start with a help to prepare us. Do you remember the conversion of Cornelius as it is recorded in the tenth chapter of the book of the Acts of the Apostles? [00:34:22]

The angels are used to do that also, and that brings me to their final function, which is this one: the good angels, we are told, will function at the final judgment. Do you remember the explanation our Lord gave to the disciple of the parable of the tares? [00:42:37]

The angels are involved in the delivery of God's law, the revelation of His purposes, and the execution of His judgments. They serve as instruments of God's will, ensuring His divine purposes are fulfilled throughout history. [00:31:18]

The angels are used of God to help us in this way. Shall I, as I close, tell you something which I hesitated to tell you? I tell you this for what it's worth: one of the most saintly men I've ever met in this life and in this world was a man who had an experience of seeing an angel. [00:45:49]

The angels are numerous, described as a multitude, and they serve various functions. They are involved in the delivery of God's law, the revelation of His purposes, and the execution of His judgments. Importantly, they are deeply interested in the salvation of humanity, a mystery that even they desire to understand. [00:23:22]

The ministry of angels provides comfort and assurance to believers, as they protect, guide, and deliver us throughout our lives. At the end of our earthly journey, they are present to carry our spirits to paradise, dispelling any fear of death. [00:39:12]

The angels are used by God to give us deliverance. You remember in the twelfth chapter of Acts, we read of Peter being arrested and thrown into prison. And you remember what happened to him: an angel of the Lord came upon him, and a light shined in the prison. [00:38:56]

The angels are deeply interested in the mystery of human salvation, a concept that even they desire to understand. This highlights the profound nature of God's grace and the unique role of humanity in His redemptive plan. [00:28:29]
