The Precious Gift of Faith: Embracing Our Spiritual Heritage

Sermon Summary

Sermon Clips

Faith is described as precious because it is a gift from God, not something we earn or achieve through our own efforts. This gift is of immense value because of the Giver—God Himself—and the cost at which it was given, namely, the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Faith is also precious because it is rare; in a world where many are spiritually dead, being part of the small company of believers is a privilege. [00:09:09]

Faith is not only precious because of its origin and rarity but also because of what it accomplishes in our lives. It grants us forgiveness, makes us partakers of the divine nature, and delivers us from the corruption of the world. It provides us with the companionship of the Lord and assures us of an abundant entrance into the everlasting kingdom of Christ. [00:39:26]

The real trouble with these people was that they had been forgetting the precious character of their faith. Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like Precious Faith with us. That was their trouble; they had been forgetting or failing to realize, as they should, the preciousness, the precious character of their faith. [00:09:09]

Faith is precious because it is rare. In a world where true faith is scarce, being part of the small company of believers is a privilege. This rarity adds to the preciousness of our faith, reminding us of the unique and valuable position we hold as Christians. [00:24:32]

Faith aligns us with the apostles and the great heroes of faith throughout history. This noble lineage should encourage us to live with confidence and assurance, knowing we belong to a royal family of believers. Our faith is the same faith that saved the apostles and the prophets. [00:32:13]

Faith grants us forgiveness, makes us partakers of the divine nature, and delivers us from the world's corruption. It provides us with the companionship of the Lord and assures us of an abundant entrance into His kingdom. This transformative power of faith is a testament to its preciousness. [00:39:26]

Understanding the preciousness of our faith should lead us to live with joy and assurance, reflecting the glory of God to those around us. Our lives should be a testament to the transformative power of faith. We should lift up our heads, not in a carnal boisterousness, but as men and women who realize what a precious thing faith is. [00:45:44]

Faith is the golden key that God gives His children, which unlocks the door, and you can walk in, and all the treasures of God's household are at your disposal. Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord. [00:39:26]

Faith is something that comes to us not as the result of anything that we do but as the result of something that's done outside us. The lot or the kind which we take, that's what decides the issue. This is the most important matter because Peter, you see, is reminding them of how they have faith. [00:12:48]

Faith is precious because of the Giver—God Himself—and the cost at which it was given, namely, the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. To give us the gift of faith has cost God more than anything He has ever done. It cost God to sacrifice His only begotten Son. [00:22:48]

Faith is a gift which we receive; we don't earn our Salvation. You are not here this morning and different from the people who are outside who never go to a place of worship because you were inherently better, but because you've received, you've obtained this great gift of faith. [00:16:48]

Faith is precious because it is rare. In a world where true faith is scarce, being part of the small company of believers is a privilege. This rarity adds to the preciousness of our faith, reminding us of the unique and valuable position we hold as Christians. [00:24:32]
