I see in this the irrationality of unbelief it wasn't that they would not not believe anymore they had come to the place where they could not believe in verse 37 John tells us that though Jesus had done so many miracles before them yet they believed not on him and he follows that by saying they could not believe. [00:02:21]

Jesus gives us one of the reasons he said that they will not come to the light because they love Darkness rather than light because their deeds are evil perhaps another reason why they do not come is they are afraid of what it might cost them they're in love with themselves. [00:03:23]

Jesus taught us that the self-centered life is not a life in harmony with God that we should be interested in others and in the welfare of others as much as the welfare of ourselves Jesus said if you want to come after me you have to deny self and take up the cross and follow me. [00:04:01]

Miracles can bring Faith but they can also bring a hardening of the heart look at all of the Miracles that Jesus had done done and yet their hearts were so hardened they could not believe it had that effect on Pharaoh when Moses came to the Pharaoh demanding that he release the children of Israel. [00:05:48]

Pharaoh hardened his heart against God and again the Pharaoh hardened his heart against God and again until finally we read and God hardened the heart of pharaoh now the word hardened is translated from the Hebrew but there are two Hebrew words that are Incorporated here that are both translated hardened. [00:06:31]

I believe that it is as instinctive for a man to believe in God as it is for a bird to build a nest I think that the belief in God is something that is just built into us in fact one of the arguments for the existence of God in theology is called the universality of the belief in God. [00:12:00]

Paul tells us in Romans 1 that it was when they knew God but refused to glorify him as God that they became vain in their imaginations as their foolish Hearts were darkened and professing themselves to be wise they actually became fools because they began to worship and serve the creature more than the Creator. [00:13:21]

The absurd things that men will believe once they have rejected the truth of God and come in into that irrationality of unbelief a classic example of the absurd things that men will believe when they reject the truth of God is the theory of evolution think of it for a moment matter acting on matter. [00:17:21]

Logic tells me that order cannot come out of chaos that it's impossible for chaos to organize itself into order logic tells me that you have to have a designer if you have a design that behind everything that is and demonstrates design there has to be thought now we know that most things that we create exists first in thought. [00:19:03]

Solomon speaks of this thought or this logos as wisdom and he personifies wisdom there in chapter 8 and he said I love them that love me and those that seek me early shall find me riches and honor are with me yay durable riches and righteousness my fruit is better than gold yay than fine gold. [00:21:22]

The scribes and the Pharisees had come to a place where they could not believe it was irrational unbelief in spite of the indisputable evidence they could not believe it is possible for a person to reject Jesus Christ so often that they can come to a place where they cannot believe. [00:25:19]

Today it will never be easier to receive Jesus Christ than now every time you say no it's going to become more difficult to say yes you see though you may not have committed the unpardonable sin yet many are on the path to committing it as they say no again and they get to the place where.
