Sermon Summary

Sermon Clips

The purpose is the glory of God. It is the final assertion of the glory of God in the presence of those who have not given him the glory. You see, you must say that the Bible says it, and for this reason, the essence of sin is that it refuses to give glory to God. [00:08:02]

The last judgment is the promulgation of the verdict. It is the occasion on which the fate of the saved and the lost will be pronounced by the judge Eternal. He won't arrive at it then; he will simply state it. Now, I trust that, having put it like that, some of those difficulties have been removed. [00:06:10]

The judgment will include all humanity and fallen angels, with believers being rewarded based on their works. This underscores the significance of our actions and faithfulness in this life, as they have eternal consequences. [00:19:32]

The glory of God is manifested not only in the salvation of those who belong to him but also in the punishment of those who have persisted in rejecting him. The purpose, therefore, of the final judgment is that God may be all in all, that his glory, his majesty may be asserted in this striking and in this signal manner. [00:09:59]

Jesus Christ, as the mediator, is appointed as the judge, ensuring fairness and righteousness in the judgment. This highlights the importance of Christ's role in our salvation and judgment, emphasizing the need for a personal relationship with Him. [00:12:43]

The eternal state for believers is a life in a new heaven and a new earth, free from sin and suffering, in the presence of God. This glorious destiny should fill us with hope and motivate us to live as children of the light, anticipating our eternal home. [00:31:11]

The last judgment is a public declaration of the verdict already determined in this life based on our faith in Christ. It is not about deciding our fate but announcing it. This understanding should shift our focus from fear to assurance in our salvation. [00:06:03]

The judge on this day will be Jesus Christ, who, as the mediator, has been given authority by the Father to execute judgment. This underscores the fairness and righteousness of the judgment, as Christ, being both God and man, understands our human condition. [00:12:43]

Ultimately, the last judgment leads to the eternal state, where believers will dwell in a new heaven and a new earth, free from sin and suffering, in the presence of God. This is the glorious destiny that awaits those in Christ, a life of eternal joy and communion with God. [00:31:11]

The purpose of the last judgment is to glorify God, showcasing His justice and righteousness. It is a reminder that God's glory is supreme and will be fully manifested in both salvation and judgment. This should inspire us to live lives that honor and glorify God. [00:08:03]

The judgment will encompass all humanity, both believers and unbelievers, as well as the fallen angels. For believers, it will be a time of reward, where their works will be evaluated, not for salvation, but for the rewards they will receive in eternity. [00:19:32]

The last judgment is not about determining our fate; rather, it is the public announcement of the verdict already decided in this life based on our faith in Christ. This event will be a grand public occasion at the end of time, coinciding with the second coming of Christ. [00:06:03]
