Day 1: The Kingdom of God as the Bible's Core Message
The kingdom of God is the central theme of the Bible, uniting the Old and New Testaments in a singular narrative of hope and salvation. From Genesis to Revelation, the Bible reveals God's sovereign rule and His plan to restore creation through His kingdom. Jesus, the prophets, John the Baptist, and the apostles all preached the gospel of the kingdom, emphasizing its importance. This message is not separate from the gospel of Christ; they are one and the same. Jesus is inseparable from His kingdom, and the gospel of the kingdom is the good news of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. Understanding this core message enriches our relationship with God and deepens our insights into His word. [03:45]
"The LORD has established his throne in the heavens, and his kingdom rules over all." (Psalm 103:19, ESV)
Reflection: How does recognizing the kingdom of God as the central theme of the Bible change the way you read and understand Scripture today?
Day 2: The Unified Gospel Message
The Bible uses various phrases to describe the gospel, such as the gospel of the kingdom, the gospel of Jesus Christ, and the gospel of the grace of God. Despite these different expressions, they all convey the same message: the good news of Christ's kingdom. This singular gospel message invites us to join Him in His kingdom, offering hope and salvation. The Great Commission in Matthew 28:19-20 instructs us to go, teach, baptize, and continue teaching, spreading this unified message to all nations. Embracing the gospel in its entirety allows us to fully participate in God's redemptive plan. [06:31]
"For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek." (Romans 1:16, ESV)
Reflection: In what ways can you actively participate in sharing the unified gospel message with those around you today?
Day 3: Miracles as a Foretaste of God's Kingdom
Jesus' miracles were demonstrations of the kingdom of God, showcasing a realm without sickness, poverty, or death. These acts were a testament to the power and reality of His kingdom, contrasting with the current world under Satan's rule. By healing the sick, raising the dead, and providing for the needy, Jesus revealed the nature of God's kingdom—a place of wholeness, abundance, and life. These miracles invite us to envision a future where God's kingdom is fully realized and to live in anticipation of that reality. [10:33]
"And he said to them, 'Go and tell John what you hear and see: the blind receive their sight and the lame walk, lepers are cleansed and the deaf hear, and the dead are raised up, and the poor have good news preached to them.'" (Matthew 11:4-5, ESV)
Reflection: How can you be a vessel of God's kingdom today, bringing healing and hope to those around you?
Day 4: The Gospel's Comprehensive Promise
The gospel message is comprehensive, encompassing salvation, peace, and hope. It is a life-changing narrative that invites believers into a relationship with God, offering a promise of a blessed future in His kingdom. This message is not just about personal salvation but also about the transformation of the world through God's love and justice. As we embrace the gospel, we are called to live out its implications in our daily lives, becoming agents of change and reconciliation in a broken world. [15:10]
"For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross." (Colossians 1:19-20, ESV)
Reflection: What specific steps can you take today to embody the peace and hope of the gospel in your interactions with others?
Day 5: The Bible's Simplicity and Depth
Understanding the core message of the Bible enriches our relationship with God and deepens our insights into His word. The Bible is designed to be understood by all, offering enlightenment and empowerment to those who seek its truths. It is not meant to be a mysterious or complicated text but a source of inspiration and guidance. As we journey through Scripture, we discover God's truths, which draw us closer to Him and His kingdom. This journey is both simple and profound, inviting us to continually grow in our faith and understanding. [26:53]
"Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path." (Psalm 119:105, ESV)
Reflection: How can you intentionally seek to understand the Bible's message more deeply this week, and what practical steps will you take to apply its truths to your life?

[39:00] - Conclusion and Invitation to Share the Message
Sermon Clips
"In the previous lesson, I demonstrated and been talking about for some time now, the kingdom of God, the kingdom of heaven, being the central theme. From Genesis to Revelation, the message that Jesus preached was the gospel of the kingdom. And this is, in fact, the same message, if you recall, some of the verses I shared with you. It's the same message that the prophets were preaching, the gospel of the kingdom. John the Baptist preached the same thing. Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand." [00:00:05]
"As Jesus said, in Matthew chapter 24, verse 14, he says, And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations. Now, I like the word all nations because typically we think about the Great Commission being Matthew 28, 19 through 20. That's what we focus on. It's an excellent verse, especially since it emphasizes this is what we ought to be doing. Go and teach and then baptize and teach." [00:01:01]
"That is, go out there where the lost are because they're not going to come flocking in to hear, Hey, teach me how to be saved. No, you have to go to them, right? And then you instruct them in the way of the Lord. Talk about the kingdom. But then once they're saved, bring them on in, baptize them, and teach them to do likewise and continue that process. So that's what the Great Commission is. That's Matthew chapter 28, 19 through 20." [00:01:39]
"It's because Jesus is inseparable from the central theme of his kingdom. I mean, how can you separate the king from the kingdom, right? Jesus is the hero of the biblical message. He's the one who makes the kingdom of heaven possible. Well, that's why there's an invitation. Otherwise, there would be no gospel of Christ. There would be no gospel of the kingdom. Jesus is the reason we have hope to join him in his kingdom." [00:04:22]
"Well, if you look up the word gospel of as a phrase, you'll discover that the gospel of the kingdom is also referred to as the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. In Mark chapter 1 verse 1. You discover the gospel of the grace of God is the same as it portrays in Acts chapter 20 verse 24. The gospel of the gospel of the kingdom is also the same as the gospel of God in Romans 1 verse 1. The gospel of peace in Romans 10, 15." [00:05:27]
"For example, in Mark 13, verse 10. Jesus said, And the gospel must first be published among all nations. Oh, uh -oh. It's missing the of. The gospel of what? That's the point. It is the gospel. There's only one gospel message. It doesn't matter if it's the gospel of Jesus Christ, the gospel of the Son of God, the gospel of God, the gospel of your salvation, the gospel of the circumcised, the gospel of the uncircumcised. It's all the same gospel. There's only one gospel message." [00:07:21]
"To the poor, the gospel is preached. Wait, the gospel? The gospel of what? The same message. The gospel of the kingdom. How do we know that? Because that's what it tells us in Matthew 4, 17. That's what Jesus went to preach, the gospel of his kingdom. Now, this particular passage, I just want to make note of this in Mark 13, 10, because I think it's an important... I think it's an important thing to say." [00:08:16]
"The lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, the poor, to the poor the gospel is being preached. This is what it's like in the kingdom of God. And when Jesus came to present himself as the king and to demonstrate that my kingdom is far, far better than the kingdom you're currently under, he came with by demonstration of the power of the kingdom of God saying, there are no lame, there are no poor, there are no ill, there's no diseases in my kingdom. This is what my kingdom's like. And this is how it can be for you too, if you believe me." [00:09:47]
"So despite being phrased differently, these 10 verses, these 10 phrases that I just mentioned are all about the good news of Jesus Christ, the good news from God and Jesus Christ to us. That's good news. In fact, what does the term gospel mean? It means good news. That's what it is. So anything associated with Christ's kingdom is going to be good news, especially the invitation to come and join him." [00:12:10]
"Romans chapter 1, verse 9 says, for God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his son, that without ceasing, I make mention of you always in my prayers. And this passage, the gospel of his son, this highlights how Paul served with his spirit in sharing the good news of God's son. And I received a very interesting question today. A very interesting question." [00:18:29]
"The gospel message of the Bible features the Son of God who is uniquely qualified to atone for our sins, provide salvation, and make it possible for us to join him in his kingdom, the kingdom of God. In this message, we are admonished to align ourselves with Christ's command to proclaim the message of his coming in his promised kingdom. This message stands as the most important and urgent truth to be embraced, compelling us to heed Christ's urgent directive and boldly proclaim his message." [00:26:10]
"The mission to proclaim this powerful message of God's kingdom is backed by his authority and power to reach and change every soul that accepts its message. It's the good news of God offered to deliver us from sin and the kingdom of Satan into his own kingdom. kingdom this life -changing message promises and guarantees peace for our souls and hope for our future regardless of whether one is jew or gentile we all personally experience the same conviction and sealing by the holy spirit through this single soul -saving message when we believe in case you didn't catch it all i went through all 10 verses and made sure every verse was represented there it was a fun exercise to do but something else that that really a practical application comes from this type of study is when you sit down and try and blend it all together and work these things out i mean it's pretty powerful it changes your life it changes how you feel you're drawn closer to god you feel compelled because you've spent a lot of time on it and you're thinking about how do i put all this together that extra effort is a great blessing talk about hebrews chapter 6 tasting the good things of the heavenly treasures the gospel message or the good good news of god expresses truths about the kingdom of heaven jesus christ salvation and the destruction of satan's kingdom at its heart the gospel encapsulates the theme of love redemption and hope offering a life -changing narrative that invites believers into a relationship with god that's that's the message that christ that christ brought and that he tells us we ought to share as well when you study ponder and articulate the message of the bible in terms of its central theme you actually deepen your insights into the messages of the scriptures and into every story and every lesson in the bible you see connections that otherwise would be missed in fact as i've been going through the old testament readings again you can't help it man there's the kingdom of god kingdom of god kingdom of god it's satan versus the people of god and satan versus god over and over and over again it's as i've preached here before when i've done my studies on the prophets the major and minor prophets the names and the places change change change but the message is the same turn or burn i get that phrase from when i was out there in california we had these jesus freaks walking around with these big banners turn or burn but that's the message repent for the kingdom of god is at hand repent or you will be condemned repent and be saved you know that's the same message over and over and over again it's so clear in the prophets in my studies there are the prophets that is one thing that jumped out at me it's easy to understand the prophets they're saying the same thing in different ways how many different ways can you say the same thing with 17 different prophets oh but it expands beyond 17 prophets because it includes all the other books in the bible old testament as well from genesis through revelation it's the same message over and over and over again you need to repent and come into my kingdom i will offer you deliverance from your bondage from your sin it's the same message over and over and over again and when that's buried into your mind imprinted and stamped when doesn't matter what story you read in the bible what verse you're looking at it jumps out at you slaps you in the face you say i know what this is all about why it's the same message it's just the names and the locations have been changed but it's the same message over and over and over again you must be saved and god is your savior god's word was written for us filled with truths just waiting to be discovered and enjoyed and this should give us hope and assurance that its message and its lessons are indeed simple enough for anyone to understand in any language the bible is designed to communicate god's good news for humanity not to stupefy us not to mystify us not to leave us in man what's going on here this is such a complicated message that's what what the devil wants you to think for example and back when i started getting into christianity the book of revelation it's so mysterious so difficult to understand stay away the book of hebrews it's so complicated stay away so i stayed away and then i came across revelation chapter 1 verse 3 blessed are those who hear read and and keep the words of this book i was being deprived of a blessing the word of god was given to us to be a blessing to us because we can understand it it was not given to be a complicated mysterious black book a black box where well i i know it's trying to say something to me but i haven't a clue that was not the purpose for god taking the trouble to get his thoughts written down and share with us the simplicity of the gospel's core message does not diminish its depth rather it makes profound spiritual truths easier to grasp it's people who make it tough to understand not god simply put the gospel is all about how god through his son jesus christ saves us from condemnation and invites us to to join him in his kingdom of paradise who can't understand that grasping the core message of the bible will enrich your understanding in its teachings resulting in a deeper personal connection and relationship with god it has to happen that way this journey of discovering the truths of god is enlightening empowering and inspiring i mentioned hebrews chapter 6 well in verses 4 and 5 these verses describe the experience of learning the bible's message and i'll summarize it this way it's enlightening it delights with the taste of a heavenly gift it draws us closer to god into fellowship with him and his holy spirit it satiates our souls with goodness and gives us a glimpse and a hope of the powers of the world to come our goal is to master the word of god and grasping the core message the central theme of the bible deepens our insights and broadens our understanding of god's word of god's message of what he's trying to communicate to us and there's nothing more thrilling than to be able to read the word of god and understand it how many people have you come across and maybe you yourself as a i read this thing but i i don't understand it it doesn't have to be that way god sends his spirit to enlighten us to give us revelation to give us understanding to give us insights and i'll never forget the day chuck schwartz met with me having called him and said i got questions for you and he said okay let's meet and after we got done he said i said to him you know i've had a bible all my life and i didn't know what this thing was all about i didn't know what to do with it oh i had learned the books of the bible at uh at a christian school uh and my mom used to send us to a little anglican church and we heard stories but it had no relevance it was not practical it was just a book of stories and words and it was through that meeting the spirit of god was getting a hold of me and it became alive and practical and real and that's why i said you know i've had a bible all my life i didn't know what it was for this is the first time i've ever heard or seen someone answer a question that made sense out of the bible my questions not someone else's question my questions it was fantastic the bible's message is more than just a story it's a promise of a blessed future forevermore in his kingdom amen" [00:27:16]
