#AreYouReady
“``We didn't prepare properly. We weren't ready. All of that to tell you today, Jesus wants to tell a story where the whole lesson is this, simple enough for a kid to remember. Are you ready? Are you ready? And not are you ready to make your flight? Are you ready to be on time so that you can travel to your friends and family? Are you ready for this singular truth? Are you ready to meet Jesus? Are you ready?”

#PrepareForReturn
“Jesus said he was going to come back. He even said he was gonna come back soon and we find ourselves waiting here and and now what our job is is to be ready for Jesus to come back. So Jesus tells the story, and he tells the story about two groups of people, one who was ready and one who was And he wants us to ask the question this morning, which of the bridesmaids are we? So notice a couple things that I want you to see from this incredible story. First of all, I want you to see that within this parable, we learned this truth that we cannot mistake proximity. We cannot mistake proximity for preparation.”

#ProximityNotPreparation
“And I want you to know this morning, as I preach this message, if someone was to come into this place and evaluate this place, you'd say we all look the same. We all sang the same songs. We prayed the same prayers. We laughed at all of Steve's corny jokes all at the same time. Right? We did all of those things in unison. And and so an outsider's gonna look and say, they're all Christian. They all love Jesus. But Jesus says that even though we might look the part, it's not the same as living the part. All 10 of them look the same. But they didn't live the same way.”

#AppearanceVsReality
“And so I can go on with my life. And so these five went to sleep, and they weren't ready because then the voice cries out. They all wake up. They all respond. The groom is coming. And notice, it's the crisis that doesn't create the problem. It reveals the problem. Did you know that circumstances, especially difficult ones, will tell you who you really are? You wanna know who a person is? See how they respond when life doesn't go the way that you want they want it to? When they hear no? When they don't get what they want, when they don't get what they desire? How do they respond?”
