#YokedTogetherServe
“And the first step, Kimberly said, was to admit that we are flawed, just like the chalice. But we are all part of the body of Christ, so we don't do this path alone. We don't do this work alone. So when it comes to the environment or any burdens that you're feeling, know that you are not alone, and you don't have to do a perfect job, and we don't have to have everything figured out ahead of time. We just need to offer ourselves, our time, our skills, whatever we have to give, and we're called to reach out and connect with others, with other groups who are doing the work, who share similar concerns. So we're invited to be yoked with a larger community like we are today, and this will make the burden lighter for all of us.”

#BrokenChaliceRepentance
“And reverend doctor Kimberly used the image of the broken chalice to also remind us that in baptism, we die to an old way of life, and we are born to a new way of life. The path of life must go through death, and we need to repent of the old ways and find a new path forward together. And the first step, Kimberly said, was to admit that we are flawed, just like the chalice. But we are all part of the body of Christ, so we don't do this path alone. We don't do this work alone.”

#JoinTheClimateCause
“So when it comes to the environment or any burdens that you're feeling, know that you are not alone, and you don't have to do a perfect job, and we don't have to have everything figured out ahead of time. We just need to offer ourselves, our time, our skills, whatever we have to give, and we're called to reach out and connect with others, with other groups who are doing the work, who share similar concerns. So we're invited to be yoked with a larger community like we are today, and this will make the burden lighter for all of us. You see, David Suzuki and thousands of others are already working on the climate issue. We are called to join in the community and join our voices and be linked with the cause.”

#YokeAsTeamwork
“Many of us think that a yoke is something hard, heavy, and burdensome. And earlier in my message, we we shared different images of yoke. And perhaps the best image of yoke about what Jesus is talking about is the yoke that harnesses a pair of animals together, allowing them to undertake the hard work as a team. So that sort of yoke allows the two animals to bear the load together and ensures that they move together in the same direction and the same speed. Perhaps this is the kind of yoke that Jesus was referring to. Jesus wants to help us carry our burdens.”
