Sometimes, the fear of disappointment causes us to hold back from believing God for great things. We limit our expectations to what seems possible or comfortable, inadvertently robbing ourselves of the miracles God longs to perform in our lives. Remember that God's plans for you are always good and far exceed your own understanding or desires. He desires to bless you abundantly, so let go of the fear of disappointment and embrace the possibility of His extraordinary work. [12:08]
Philippians 4:6-7 (ESV)
"do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
Reflection: In what specific area of your life have you been limiting God's potential impact due to a fear of disappointment, and how might you begin to shift your expectation towards believing for His best?
When faced with difficult circumstances, it's easy to feel stuck, wondering why we are just waiting. The story of the four lepers illustrates that inaction leads to stagnation, while a decisive step, even a small one, can trigger a powerful response. When you choose to move forward in faith, even when the path is unclear, God can magnify your actions in ways you cannot imagine. Don't let fear paralyze you; take that step of faith and watch God work. [18:46]
2 Kings 7:3-5 (ESV)
"Now there were four men with leprosy at the entrance of the city gates. And they said to one another, 'Why are we sitting here until we die? If we say, ‘We will stay in the city,’ we will die of famine there. And if we sit here, we will die also. So let us go and surrender to the Syrian camp. If they spare our lives, we shall live. If they kill us, we shall only die.' So they rose up in the twilight to go to the Syrian camp. And when they came to the edge of the Syrian camp, behold, there was no one there."
Reflection: Consider a situation where you feel stuck or uncertain. What is one small, decisive step you can take this week to move forward in faith, trusting that God will magnify your action?
In a world filled with distractions, discerning God's voice can sometimes feel challenging. Yet, like sheep recognizing their shepherd's call, we are designed to hear Him. The woman with the issue of blood demonstrates that even when we feel unqualified or overlooked, hearing about Jesus and responding with faith can bring complete transformation. Trust that God speaks to you, and when you hear His voice, respond with a decision to follow. [22:57]
John 10:27 (ESV)
"My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me."
Reflection: Think about a time you felt God's gentle prompting or a clear direction. What was the specific message you heard, and how did you respond to it?
Many of us can relate to simply trying to survive, navigating life's challenges day by day. However, God's desire is to transform us from survivors into messengers, impacting others with His goodness. The lepers, after receiving their miracle, didn't hoard it but went back to share the good news, leading to the liberation of their entire community. Your obedience and willingness to share what God has done can bring blessing not only to you but to many others. [28:16]
1 Peter 4:10 (ESV)
"As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace."
Reflection: Reflect on a time God has brought you through a difficult situation. How might you now share that experience or the lessons learned to encourage or help someone else who is currently in a similar struggle?
Every decision we make carries weight, but some decisions have a ripple effect that extends far beyond our immediate circumstances. The stories shared highlight how a single act of obedience, a choice to trust and follow God's leading, can lead to incredible magnification and multiplication in our lives and the lives of others. Don't underestimate the power of your obedience; it is the catalyst for God's extraordinary work. [53:55]
Proverbs 3:5-6 (ESV)
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths."
Reflection: Consider a past decision where you chose to obey God despite uncertainty. What were the unexpected positive outcomes or benefits that unfolded from that choice, and how does that encourage you to trust Him with future decisions?
A call to decisive obedience frames a theology of movement: when people stop hiding in fear of disappointment and make faith-filled choices, spiritual realities begin to shift. The narrative contrasts four lepers who choose action over passive death with the woman who, hearing about Jesus, reaches out and is instantly made whole. Those small, risky acts — rising at twilight, stepping toward an enemy camp, touching the hem of a robe — are presented as catalytic: obedience multiplies, is magnified in the unseen realm, and recovers what the enemy stole. Hearing God’s voice—like sheep recognizing their shepherd—and cultivating peace in the midst of storms are prerequisites for those decisions; the right word gives inner peace, not the other way around.
Concrete testimonies underline the principle: one phone call, one “yes,” one purchase of a parcel of land set off decades of fruit — staff, schools, buildings, and multigenerational blessing. The shift described moves people from mere survival into prophetic messenger-hood: survivors who once aimed only to make it through Sunday begin to report back to the city what God has restored. The pattern is consistent: discern a word, test it against peace and Scripture, act, and then patiently steward the multiplication that follows. Obedience does not guarantee ease, but it unleashes a persistent, compounding power that the adversary cannot ultimately withstand.
The argument is pastoral yet practical: stop limiting what God might do because of fear of disappointment; instead, cultivate ears to hear, courage to move, and endurance to steward multiplied results. Decisions matter — some are small and quiet but produce seismic, long-term changes. The invitation closes with the central, decisive choice of faith: to receive Christ, to shift identity from marginalization into sonship or daughterhood, and to let that identity reorder destiny. Obedience begets multiplication; faith-steps make the invisible army heard.
``We limit ourselves because we don't want to be disappointed. Have you ever limited yourself because you don't wanna be disappointed? Oh god, I wanna pray for that or not or I'm not really gonna I might pray for it but I really not wanna believe for it or I might I believe for it but not really gonna expect it to happen. I mean, to be honest with you, that's just normal. That's that's it should be normal. That's what it is. And so we limit ourselves because we do not want to be disappointed, so we limit ourselves to what we expect God to do. Therefore, we are robbing ourselves of miracles from God.

And as soon as they gave me the word, I knew that was the wrong word. But what I just say, Marie, I didn't know I didn't know to what to do, but that ain't it. And if that ain't it, then this must be it. How did I know let me help you here. Let me let me give you go home and just get rid of your cassette tape series if you still got them. You don't need them anymore. Go hear the whole damn thing and hear from God. Wanna know why? Don't have peace with that. How do know it's the right word? I don't know. I just got peace.

You're in the storm, but you got peace in it. We want peace over the storm, but we don't have peace in the storm. So we want God to take the storm either way so we can have peace. He said, it don't work that way. You have peace over the storm because you have peace in the storm. In the storm, and this was close enough to the nineties that we remember this song coming out of the nineties. Even in the storm, we had a feeling everything was gonna be alright. Amen? That's how you know it's a word from the Lord.

How in the world can four lepers guys probably one or two of them was just screw they're you know just just you know just they're they're just not even picking their feet up. I mean they're just lying their feet as they're going and but somehow another the army heard what they heard was another army coming because once we make a decision, once we hear from God and we make a decision, once we start moving, it might not look like anything on the outside, but in the spiritual realm that decision that I'm gonna do what God is calling me to do is gonna be magnified.

But how they go from a survivor to a messenger? Because you go ahead and read the rest of the story. You do it later. Not now. Go and do it later. And and because the Bible says that they went on into the Syrian's camp and when they went to the Syrian's camp, I mean, they're they're they're ready. I mean, they're ready to just just fall at their feet, beg for their life, put us in jail, do something because you got the food to look after us. They go in there and the enemy is gone. And when they walked in there, they couldn't find they I mean, boy, you know God's in it. You're trying to surrender to the enemy and God has completely removed the enemy from your sight. Isn't God good? I mean, even we can't even find anybody to give up to. Where's that devil at anyway so I can just give up to him? Just go ahead and have it. And God has done removed him out of the way.

went all the way back the same road, went to the gate of the city, told the gatesman, they says, hey, you need to let the king know that all of our stuff is over there in that village. It's over there in the Syrian's gate and the Syrians are gone. He says, what do mean they're gone? He said, they're gone. He said, they're not there, but our gold is there, our silver is there, our weapons are there, everything that they stole from us, including our food, is there, and we need we just just go get it. Just just go get it and they realized that you gotta be kidding and they went back and they plundered and they got all their stuff back. That's what happens to us. We are in bondage, we're in lack, we don't have anything, but somebody decides to be a decision maker, somebody decides, you know what, I'm just going to do what God says it's going to do, and not only did they get free, but the entire village got free because everything the enemy has stolen, not only did the lepers be okay, everybody else got okay with it. How many is ready to make a decision for God? He's just waiting on us.
