#ChristFirstNotSelf
“Self love is not the answer. Drawing close to Jesus is the answer. The the the love that that that is begins to be centered and focused on something other than Christ is what causes the apostasy in our life. It causes the drifting. Jesus said it in Matthew chapter 10 verse 37. He says something powerful. He says, hey, anyone who loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me. What? Jesus, are you saying that I shouldn't love my family? That I shouldn't love my parents? He even goes on and he says he says daughter or sister or mother. Right? He goes on he names family members and he says, if you love these people more than me, you're not worthy of me. How can he make such a claim? How can he make such a claim that seemingly would make us feel condemned or disqualified? No, he's talking about this mis aligned or misdirected love. He's talking about if there's any other love in your life that outranks your love for me, you've gotten off track.”

#CorrectionThatHeals
“But the good news for the Christian is that correction isn't something we run away from. Correction, it frees us to walk straight with our Lord. There's no fear in the word exposing us because it heals us at the same time. This correction, the correction from God to us in our lives, it's not like, I got you. I'm pointing out all the wrong in your life. I'm pushing you down. No. The correction that God gives us through his word is where he comes alongside of us, and it picks us up and it helps us out of the difficult things. It corrects us, not pushing us down, not getting us caught in in in in the dirt. No, no. It lifts up and it moves You understand the difference of that? One is, one, it makes you feel bad when you're getting corrected. The other is like, no, no, Lord, please correct me. Lord, please help me. Please teach me. Please move me on the right path.”

#AnchorInTheWord
“The response to spiritual drift into deception and the response to apostasy is staying anchored, is remaining. Remain in the things that you've been taught. Remain in the scriptures. And and Paul points because be because in in the world of deception and counterfeits and people who are self deceived, Timothy and the church needs an anchor outside of themselves that will be sure and steady throughout the years and throughout the seasons. And he points to the word of God. It's the word of God that never changes. It's the word of God that is sure and steady. It's the word of God that will anchor us to the truth instead of us being deceived and following the next new idea or the next experience. It's the word of God.”

#WordTransformsLives
“And the result is that a believer in verse 17 is fully equipped, ready for the work of God, ready because they're they're anchored to God's love, ready because they're anchored to God's truth. And this right here, verse 16, is how the form in verse five or the act of religious that's how the form becomes reality because it's God's word that exposes the things that are off in our life, and it's Christ that transforms what we surrender to him. Let me say that again. It's God's word that corrects us and shows us what's off in our life, and as we surrender those things to Jesus Christ, the power we experience is him transforming us. That's the form with the godliness instead of a form without godliness.”
