68s
“``God is right here in this place. The refrain, you know it from the gospels. Rejoice. The kingdom of God is near. Rejoice right here. Yes. Over there too and here and all the hearers. Here. Here. Here. Here. Here. Jesus, the Christ, the Messiah, God's presence, God's child revealed what had been true all along, but what is and what was so often hard to see. That god, this vastness of god's mystery, fullness of life flows through and creates and sustains and animates all of life. God's own presence in the midst of all of life. As the New Testament writer said, is love. That's God's fullest presence.”
50s
“And so he says the only thing that he can say because it's the truest thing he knows that the only way to understand this, he might say to his friends, is to surrender your life. And then he says, the minute you think you found your life, let go of it. Because the finding and holding on of things is the problem. It's the surrendering that kindles in us the understanding what it means to be living in the midst of divine life.”
33s
“This is a bottom up, inside out, upside down, turn it all the way around kind of living. And the center of this life is a recognition, a revelation that the god of all, the god of the vastness, the god of the god of the bigness, the god of of lie awake at night and look at the stars and say, oh, god, are you up there, god? That great big god is not distant.”
51s
“Surrendering, flowing, not clinging to but flowing out. Always trusting that in the flowing out, there will be a flowing in and a flowing out and a flowing in and a flowing out. Always flowing and moving, not a static throne, a fixed place, a mountain high, a great big building or a mansion or a fortress or a control center. No. All. All of this. All of this is caught up in that flow. And we're all called to be in the midst of this flow and this full life is the life that Jesus is calling us into. And it's all about participating in this profound expansive mind altering, life changing, and life giving all at the same time deep reality.”
