#prayerFirst
“``In the life of a Christ follower, I've said this a million times, in the life of a Christ follower, prayer should never be the last resort. It should always be your first choice. It should always be your first option. It it should always be your first line of of offense. Scripture says we can go boldly before the throne of grace. We have access directly to the God, the creator of the universe, and scripture tells us that he hears our prayers. And he's a good God that says, with me, all things are possible. So we go before god with what? Paul said with thanksgiving. Why? Because we know that he hears us and because we know that he is working in all things to bring about good for those who love him and are called according to his purpose.”

#stopPlayingGod
“And we laugh and we joke, but the reality is is that whenever we're trying to control something that is not ours to control, we're trying to be like God. And we don't always look at it that way, and we don't wanna admit that and be honest with ourselves. But when you try to control any area that is not yours to control, you are attempting to be like God. The attitude is is I wanna control it because I believe that I know what's best.”

#surrenderTrustGod
“So what do we do? When there's something that we can't control, we say, God, hey, guess what? This one's actually yours. I trust it to you. I've done what I can do. Do your part. I've done, God, what I can do. The rest is up to you. I'm trusting you with all my heart. I'm not leaning on my own understanding. In this particular situation, in every other situation, God, I'm acknowledging you. I'm submitting to you. I am praying that you would do something about this, What does God do? God gives you a supernatural peace that goes beyond your ability to understand.”

#intimacyNotControl
“In a relationship, think about your relationships for a minute. Husband and wife or friendships or whatever else. You can have control or you can have intimacy, but you can't have both. Say it again. You can have control or you can have intimacy, but you can't have both. I learned this firsthand. Listen, I am very type a. I like to solve problems. I'm a people pleaser. I like to fix things. You know, when we first got married, when when I first got married, if we had the least little argument, I wanted to talk it out. I still sometimes do this and I have to, like, pull it back. Right? But but I wanted to talk it out and beat it to death until it was fixed and I was convinced I could fix it.”
