God is already touching lives, because He is a miracle-working God who opens the way, heals, and does what is impossible with men. Luke 5 shows Jesus teaching, while “the power of the Lord was with Him to heal.” Jesus therefore brings both the Word and the power that goes with the Word. Matthew, Acts, and Luke show the same twofold ministry: proclaim the kingdom and heal the sick.

Christ gives His church more than nice messages. The gospel confronts the powers that keep people bound, whether sickness, poverty, oppression, fear, limitation, or the devil’s attacks. God’s power is greater than every lesser power, and all power belongs to God. Luke 10 declares authority over all the power of the enemy, so Satan cannot have the final word over a life.

Moses gives the picture of how people encounter God’s supernatural work. Exodus 3 shows Moses seeing the burning bush, a sight that was outside the normal order. Moses says, “Let me turn aside and see,” and that turning aside becomes the call to those gathered at the mountain of the Lord. Mount Zion is not a place for casual hearts. Obadiah declares that on Mount Zion there shall be deliverance, escape, holiness, and inheritance.

John 10:10 sets the contrast plainly: the thief comes to steal, kill, and destroy, but Christ comes that people may have life, and have it more abundantly. Eternal life is the life of God operating in a person now. God does not only bring somebody out of the enemy’s hand. God also brings that person into inheritance, favor, restoration, open doors, and the fullness of salvation.

Luke 13 brings a woman into view who had a disabling spirit for eighteen years. The woman was bent over and could not straighten herself, but Jesus called her, spoke release over her, and laid hands on her. Jesus names her “a daughter of Abraham,” showing that bondage was contradicting the covenant promise over her life. The text therefore calls for faith that refuses to settle with limitation as normal.

Christ calls people to identify every disabling spirit and speak according to their rights in Him. Faith does not deny medical realities, but faith does not surrender to a diagnosis as the final authority either. God calls His people to come expectant, remain engaged, and believe that the mountain of the Lord is a place of visitation, healing, deliverance, and testimony.
