Christ’s victory over the devil starts with the right perspective. The devil may look big, bold, frightening, and able to do damage, but Romans 16:20 puts him where he belongs: under the believer’s feet. The cross did not leave believers wrestling face to face with an equal opponent. Christ disarmed spiritual rulers, canceled every accusation, and publicly put the enemy to shame.
Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil, not negotiate with him, medicate him, or spend years trying to make peace with him. First John says that believers live like Jesus in this world. Because Jesus is not worried, defeated, broke, sick, or intimidated, faith refuses to be moved by bills, diagnoses, threats, or bad reports. Christ is the big Brother who has already taken care of the bill. Those made heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ ought to know they are going to eat good.
The authority of the believer rests in Christ’s authority. Luke 10 gives authority to walk on snakes and scorpions and crush all the power of the enemy. Faith changes a person’s appetite. Once somebody has tasted and seen that the Lord is good, defeat stops tasting normal. Victory produces winning taste buds, and faith refuses to host a pity party with what God has given power to overcome.
Angelic assistance reveals just how much help heaven has assigned to those who inherit salvation. Satan and demons are fallen angels, created beings who rebelled against their Creator and got kicked out of heaven. Michael and the angels of God defeated that rebellious third, which means the stronger side is the side sent to care for God’s people. One angel killed 185,000 Assyrian soldiers in a night, and Jesus could have called more than twelve legions of angels if He had chosen to avoid the cross.
Daniel’s experience shows that heaven hears prayer immediately, even when the answer seems delayed. The angel was sent the first day Daniel prayed, but demonic resistance fought against the answer until Michael came to help. God’s people must not confuse delay with denial or assume they are standing alone. Angels respond to the Word of God, minister to believers, strengthen the weak, and carry out heaven’s assignment. The devil got beat at his strongest, and after he fell, he certainly cannot win now.

Key Takeaways
- 1. Keep the devil under your feet [00:19:14] Romans 16:20 gives a settled position for the enemy: under the believer’s feet. Fear grows when the devil is viewed as something huge and untouchable, but faith sees him through Christ’s victory. The battle changes when authority replaces panic. The believer does not need to make room for what God has commanded to be crushed. [19:14]
- 2. Christ already took care of it [00:27:05] Christ’s shared inheritance means believers do not come to life’s table alone. Jesus is not merely an example from history; He is the King who brings His people into what belongs to Him. Anxiety often acts as though the bill has not been paid. Faith remembers that the big Brother has already made provision. [27:05]
- 3. Victory changes spiritual taste buds [00:31:39] The goodness of God creates an appetite that no longer settles for defeat as a lifestyle. Faith does not deny hardship, but it refuses to call hardship home. God’s victory makes pity parties feel out of place. The believer can help hurting people without agreeing that their present condition is their final portion. [31:39]
- 4. Heaven has assigned big help [00:52:17] Hebrews calls angels ministering spirits sent to care for those who inherit salvation. The angels assigned by God are not weak cartoon figures but holy, powerful servants of the Lord of angel armies. Their strength points beyond themselves to the God who commands them. The believer is never as alone as circumstances may suggest. [52:17]
- 5. Prayer releases heaven’s answer [01:00:50] Daniel’s answer was sent on the first day he prayed, even though the manifestation took twenty-one days. Delay did not mean God failed to hear, and resistance did not mean heaven had stopped moving. The Word of God gives believers language to speak when answers seem held up. Faith keeps praying because God’s help knows the address and never misses the delivery day.
