#PracticeNotJustPresence
“Friends, there are people attending church all over the world this morning who hear God's word. We're privileged in America. We can do this freely over and over again. We hear God's word over and over again. We could sit and hear it anytime. We've got on the Internet now access to resources where we can hear God's word anytime we want. You can hear from the best preachers in the world anytime just by clicking on the Internet, sharing God's word anytime you wanna hear it. And that's not the key to living the life God wants you to live if that's all you do. That's deceiving yourself. It's making you think I'm gonna have the blessings of God in my life because I hear God's word all the time. It's not just about hearing God's word. Don't deceive yourselves.”

#DiscernGodsWill
“And when we start thinking that way, here's what he says, you'll be able to test and approve what God's will is. You will be able to discern the will of God when you have your mind transformed by the word of God. And then here's the result of that. You'll be able to test and approve what God's will is, and here's what he says about God's will. His good, pleasing, and perfect will. So he doesn't just call us into his good work. He gives us the instructions to follow, to do the good things he's prepared in advance for us to do.”

#ThinkLikeGod
“One of the beautiful things about learning God's word and putting it into our hearts and minds is this. As we begin to see things the way God sees them, we begin to see people the way God sees people, we begin to see circumstances the way God sees circumstances, we begin to think God's thoughts in our own minds about all those things we're dealing within our lives. It's a beautiful transformation. As children of god, we grow up to be like our father, To think like he thinks, to view things the way he views things, to respond to things the way he wants us to respond to things. We grow up to be like our dad who loves us so much.”

#GodBreathedScripture
“He says, it is God breathed. Now that phrase translated God breathed is is using terminology here in the New Testament. The Greek equivalent is found the Hebrew is found in the Old Testament speaking of God breathing into man the breath of life itself. So he's saying the scriptures that we have brought to us with the same power, with the same personal input, with the same oversight and authority as God breathing in life to human beings at the very beginning. That's what he did for scripture. He breathed into those who wrote it the very life giving words that we have recorded for us in the Bible.”

#LovingCorrection
“If they're playing in the yard and they decide, oh, we wanna play in the road too, and it's a heavily trafficked road. Right? Cars are coming by left and right. And they just think they are being able to play in the road. The cars will just have to put up with it. They might need some correction and some rebuking and some training in a different way to do things. And a loving parent will do that for their children. A loving parent is willing to bring the correction into the process so that they can have the good life that you know you want them to have. And our heavenly father loves us so much that he's willing to tell us the hard things, the things that are hard for us to hear, the things that reveal to us. We've been doing some things the wrong way.”

#ScriptureGuidesDecisions
“What's God's will for marriage? He's got it right here. What's God's will for for what you do with family relationships? It's written right here. What's God's will for your attitude at work? It's it's right here. Right? You pick any subject. God's will for you in that area is right here. Now he may not specifically tell you every move to make in detail, but he's gonna tell you here is here is the teaching that I want you to make every decision under the guidance of this teaching. So that when you make those detailed decisions, they are guided by the principles of God's word, always.”

#HumilityOverPride
“``The biggest reason people won't surrender to God's word is pride. It's the greatest deterrent to letting God's word guide us in our lives. We think we know better. We think we can do this without these instructions. We think we can go our own way and still have the good things that we wanna have that God would want us to have. Gotta get our pride out of the way before we accept the teaching that God wants us to have. So get rid of all the moral filth and the evil that's so prevalent and humbly accept the word planted in you. That word accept is important, right, which can save you. He's saying this is the most critical thing. If you don't accept this teaching, you're not gonna have the salvation that this teaching brings. You gotta be willing to surrender to this teaching to have the salvation.”

#AllScriptureMatters
“That's the first thing. We've gotta come to grips where do we really believe that the Bible is the word of God. Now here's a little tricky thing that some groups are doing out there. They're saying phrases that sound like Christianity that aren't quite the real thing. They're saying the Bible contains the word of God. Meaning that parts of it are God's word. It's contained in there, but parts of it are not. So I wanna be clear here at Lakeshore. We believe the entire Bible from Genesis through Revelation, it's all God's word. That's what we believe about the Bible.”
