57s
“``God has never broken a promise to us. Every prophecy has come to be fulfilled or will be fulfilled. Every promise of salvation has proven true. Every word that God speaks is trustworthy. He is perfectly faithful, perfectly true, and as his children, we're called to reflect that character. Our integrity isn't just about protecting our reputation. It's about reflecting the God whose word can always be trusted. So when Jesus calls his followers to be people of integrity, it's because kingdom relationships are built on integrity. And when people can trust our words, they catch a glimpse of who it is that we actually serve.”
62s
“See, Jesus isn't asking us to do something he wasn't willing to do himself. While we were rebelling, he still loved us. While we were running, he pursued after us. While we were sinners, he died for us. See, at the cross, Jesus takes on the retaliation we deserved and responds with grace instead. The gospel is the greatest demonstration of loving beyond what's deserved. So let me ask you, who in your life is difficult to love right now? Who's hurt you? Who's disappointed you? Who's wounded you? Who do you avoid because of bitterness? Because Jesus is not asking you to pretend like it never happened. He's not calling you to remove healthy boundaries, but he is calling you to release your right to revenge and entrust the situation to him.”
62s
“It's easy to talk about love until you're asked to love someone who's difficult to love. It's easy to speak about commitment until commitment actually costs you something. And relationships have a way of revealing what's taking place in our hearts. And as citizens of God's kingdom, as his people, we're called to relate to others differently than the world does. Because in a culture that treats people as disposable, Jesus would turn around and say, no. I want you to be faithful. In a culture that's filled with half truth and broken promises, Jesus says, no. I want you to live by integrity. In a culture obsessed with getting even, Jesus would say, no. I'm calling you to live by grace. See, faithfulness, integrity, grace, these are the keys to establishing healthy kingdom relationships.”
43s
“when Jesus says love your enemy, what it does not mean is that you pretend evil doesn't exist. not his point. It doesn't mean that you approve of sinful behavior. In fact, it doesn't even mean that you remove healthy boundaries. What it does mean is that you choose to seek their good rather than their harm. It means refusing to be consumed by hatred. It means praying for them instead of plotting against them. It means desiring God's purposes for their lives rather than their destruction.”
