49s
“``Every people pleaser in the room just went, oh, what a burden. And I don't live, like, kind of in that headspace of, like, being a primary motivation, but it's not what he's saying is, like, just make everybody happy everywhere you go. Are you happy? Are you happy? Like, we're checking this invisible box with all these different people. Instead, the thought is, I want every part about my life to help you fall in love with Jesus. And in this way that I live, I want you to know Jesus as I know Jesus, and I want you to know Jesus as I know Jesus, and to let everything that I do be pointing people towards Jesus so I don't seek how does everything I do make Justin's life better. Instead, the primary filter I think through my life is how could my life point to how Jesus can save everybody?”

“And you're like, I wasn't intending to model that. But isn't it easy how they just got the one little thing? And yet the more we lead with graciousness and apologies and asking for forgiveness and pointing our life in the direction, we also have the chance to model that. That God picks imperfect people and allows us to live in such a way that it reflects the God of the universe. And that our life would be invitational to anyone else who hears it? And would we be the kind of people that say, Do as I do. Not just say what I say, but could I live my life that says, Do as I do. Let's take a moment while we pray together.”

“I wanna live my life in such a way that friends, neighbors, random people would see the way that I'm living and that I could say, hey. Follow me as I've learned to follow Jesus. Learn to do the things that look at how Jesus has shown up in my life. And if I can begin to show you how Jesus has worked with me, then you can begin to experience Jesus in the same way. And then someone could do the same thing who's done the same thing. And that's literally how it's made it to this part of the world. But it's also that thought, if you and I live in such a way that we're like, man, the thing that is most important is are you falling in love with Jesus?”
30s
“And so for his sake, he's like, hey. For the good of my neighbor, I wouldn't reject any of the food that they offered because I want my neighbor to see me eating it. But if my neighbor starts to get weird or if it's confusing or they have issues, I would gladly not eat this thing that I prefer for the sake of their heart. Right? Because everything is the Lord's. So the issue in our decision making of helpful building of everything is the heart of the person, not the thing that we're doing.”
