39s
“``And, see, if you want to have success in life, you can approach it from your own perspective. You can approach it from the perspective of the world to to keep being successful, to climb the ladder, to have x y and z, or allow God's word to redefine what success looks like. And when you do that, you'll find contentment. You'll find joy. You'll find true satisfaction, and I would argue the only thing that can really satisfy those deepest longings in our hearts and in our lives.”
32s
“When you're thinking about what career to do, you're you're coming to God first. When you're trying to think what that next step is, you're you're going to God and his word. When you maybe you're thinking about what does it look like to to get married and start a family, you're you're going to God and what does his word have to say about those decisions and those desires? At the end of the day, you try to do anything in this earth, in this world, outside of coming to God first, it's gonna leave you feeling empty.”
31s
“To the the first lesson we can get from king David is this, is that success in life, it sees blessings in the suffering. The success in life sees the blessings in suffering. Many times we experience suffering, we want to push away, we want nothing to do with it. And yet time and time again, David says, well, it's actually good that I was afflicted. It's actually good that I'm enduring these hardships.”
45s
“And it's so easy to be focused on, well, how do I promote myself? How do I keep going? How do I climb the next ladder? And yet, what David tells us here from his word is that ultimately, your success isn't about what you do. Your success is about pointing people to God. So in the midst of your accolades, in the midst of your achievements, It's not about me. It's about pointing people to God in the midst of what we're doing.”
