55s
“``Following God and being faithful to God does not get rid of the diagnosis. Following God and being faithful to God does not mean that hardship of this life is going away. Following God and being faithful to God does not mean that people aren't gonna mistreat you. Following God and being faithful to God does not mean that life is gonna be candy canes and rainbows and everything's gonna be perfect. Following God means you're gonna have what you need when you need it. Following God means you're gonna be sustained in every trial. Following God means you're gonna have strength to face the hardship. Following God means that you are going to have a peace in this chaotic life that this world is desperate to find in anything other than God, but you don't have to search for that because you know who you are, you're planted in the word of God, and you're strong, and your foundation is unshakable.”

“My question this morning is where have we surrendered our convictions because we care more about the opinions of other people? Where we found ourselves in situations where we're compromised because we have a deep fear of man? You see fear of man will keep us stuck in a habit of constantly trying to please and gain the approval of people that are gonna move the goalpost on us constantly. It's like trying to play a game when the rules are constantly changing. You only will fail. God's word is unchanging. The goalpost does not move. Design and orient your life after God, and you will see that he is going to bless your life. A fear of God leads to blessing in your life. A fear of man leads to destruction.”

“Where have we begun to negotiate our convictions for the opinions of other people? Where is our faithfulness to where God has planted us and rooted us, begun to get washed out by seeking the approval of people that do not have our best in mind? They might be good people, but if they're not God, they're not the greatest approval of our life. Only you know the areas of your life where you've sat back and allowed your convictions to waver for the approval of other people. Only you know the areas of your life where you haven't been faithful to live and love like Jesus in the moments that God has you because you've been consumed with trying to have what's next. This morning serves as an opportunity for us to re center and refocus our lives back on seeking the approval of the only one that matters, basing our entire life off of the creator of all things.”
38s
“God promotes people who are faithful where he has planted them. God promotes people who are faithful where he has planted them. When we're concerned with pleasing God, we won't be obsessed with what's next. We'll be exactly where we need to be in doing what we need to be doing. God equips those that he calls. The best use of our time is being faithful with the relationships and the people that God has placed with us and allowing God to work on the fruit.”
